This may have been a little game, not unlike the 3 litmus questions that my friends and I apply toward sportsbook newcomers, but it should serve some value.
It's a Dion Jordan thread, at first glance. Yet there's a reference to Dion Sims, and a scouting report on him, quite high in the proceedings.
Was that accidental? Filler? My professor Joe Jares used to emphasize that every word was important. Cold cases are frequently solved when a fresh set of eyes discovers a name or tidbit in the initial reports that was foolishly never explored.
I knew the Happy 40% Adjustment crew would race beyond the Dion Sims mention and thrill to condemn, either the kid or myself, or likely both. Mission accomplished. It's part of that mindset, a tunnel vision loyalty and never meeting anything not worthy of overreaction.
I had other business for a couple of hours. My estimate was 20 posts before someone would uncover the Dion Sims praise. Comfortable over.
This site continues to amaze in terms of what is tolerated. WV made a post early in this thread that was low class, and would have been quickly zapped in virtually every other forum I frequent. As I mentioned, I pity anyone who defaults to that underaged angle. This from the same guy who made a fantastic set of posts in the Mike Wallace matter earlier in the day. On this site the administrators are sometimes the contributors of the low level jabs, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised if similar themes are held if not championed. Not talking about Nublar. He's predictable and defensive toward any criticism of the team, but very fair within that well established tendency. At least one other guy often reaches for the gutter, and it's disgraceful. Hard to believe he doesn't recognize it. I can't imagine wanting those posts under my name. I've held that role on one site years ago. I had to amend my posting style immediately, as concession to what was expected of me, and what was proper. In this case it's similar to the decline of the Dolphin organization as a whole, from the one I cherished as a kid, with classy guys like Shula and Beathard, to the current Ross and Dee mentality of say-anything, do-anything, if it hints at advancing our greed.
