Fun Heat facts:
ROUT IS ON: Oddly, the sub-.500 Heat stands at the top of the league at the All-Star break when it comes to lopsided victories. The Heat's four 30-point victories are the most in the NBA this season, followed by three apiece by the Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers, and two apiece by the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Bobcats and Toronto Raptors. Tuesday's 99-66 victory over the visiting Houston Rockets, in fact, marked only the sixth time since the introduction of the shot clock in 1954 that a team scored fewer than 100 points and won by at least 33. The four 30-point victories tie the Heat franchise single-season record, set in 1993-94.
Antoine Walker's bid to resurrect his career, and perhaps keep ahead of his creditors, is taking the former Heat forward to Puerto Rico, where he has signed a one-month tryout contract to play with former NBA player Marcus Fizer with the Guaynabo Mets. Walker, who has not played professionally since the end of the 2008-09 season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, is scheduled for a physical Monday, with the team's season opening March 4.
With one more double-double, Michael Beasley will join Heat teammates Udonis Haslem (12), Jermaine O'Neal (12) and Dwyane Wade (11) with double-digit double-doubles this season. Only twice previously has the Heat had four players with double-digit double-doubles: 1993-94 (Rony Seikaly, 34; Grant Long, 10; Glen Rice, 10; and Brian Shaw, 10) and '96-97 ( Alonzo Mourning, 32; Tim Hardaway, 25; P.J. Brown 23; and Ike Austin, 11).
11. Times, due to the lopsided nature of the Heat's results this season, that Dwyane Wade has sat out the entire fourth quarters of games.
