2009-2010 Miami Heat Thread: Race to the Finish

maybe we go on a run now if we get amaure, hopefully

Sorry Heat fans, Amar'e will not be coming to Miami, thank god. I'm almost positive he's staying put in Phoenix for the time being.

then he goes in the off season and the suns get nothing, or he opts into the 1 year deal and the suns have to pay him 17.6 million.

i wanted jamison more than amare, he is so injury prone

Another possibility from Berger @cbs:

Spurned in their efforts to land Amar'e Stoudemire, the Miami Heat are engaged in "serious, owner-level" discussions to land Utah power forward Carlos Boozer, sources told CBSSports.com.

The talks brought to a head a season-long disagreement among Jazz officials as to what should be done with Boozer, in the final year of his contract at $12.7 million -- a luxury tax burden on the Jazz. Coach Jerry Sloan, recognizing how well the team has played with the combination of Boozer and Paul Millsap, has been lobbying to keep him. But ownership, mindful of a massive tax bill that will be due at the end of the season, has been exploring ways to shed Boozer's contract. One way to do it would be to recruit the Wizards as a third teamin the scenario. Washington just acquired several expiring contracts in the Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison deal and could be looking to further accelerate its rebuilding.

I think its all the same deal. Haslem + QRich + pick for Boozer/Amare with the Heat trying to find a third team that actually wants Haslem and can find a way to get the Suns/Jazz a contract that is insured or can be easily bought out to lower their luxury tax bill.

Carlos Boozer trade talks with Miami

Last minute trade talks have surfaced between the Utah Jazz and Miami Heat surrounding Carlos Boozer.

The Jazz have been hoping to move Boozer for some time now. Names dropped in the potential trade include point guard Mario Chalmers and big man Udonis Haslem. Washington is also rumored to be involved to make the deal work.

No Amare, no Boozer. It certainly makes the rest of the season less interesting. Not that either would have made the Heat relevant, but at least it would be fun watching Wade play with talent again. Hopefully he and Beasley can use the second half to figure out how to play with each other when they're on the floor together.

I have a hunch the Suns realized just how bad they would be without Amar'e and are going to make a real push to sign him long term.

Doubt it. I think its more that the offers were so lousy Kerr thought he might get crucified if he accepted one.

This offseason there are going to be more teams with cap space than free agents, and the Suns still could get something from a team in a sign and trade if the big names re-sign and teams like Chicago, Miami, and NY start getting desperate.

no we go hard after bosh, and nice sf, we have to in order to keep wade happy next year

This team is g'damn retarded. It's almost like they are in denial that Beasley is far and away the best offensive player with Wade not playing.

He will play sub 30 mins tonight without Wade playing.

He finally gets in with 5 mins in the 4th quarter after Memphis closes it to 4. The first 3 possessions Beasley doesn't touch it, the 4th he gets it and makes.
