A Honest look at Jeff Ireland

Did you ever consider that maybe the Head Coach has no idea what he needs to fill out his schemes or systems. That maybe, just maybe there is a learning curve between two men trying to accomplish the same goal.

If needed we replaced Dansby and Burnette and look what we got: Ellerbe and Wheeler. We went from Dansby ranked at #25, Burnette outside the top 50, to Both linebeackers outside the 50. So who's request was that? Coyle or Philbin?
Dansby and Burnett fall on Ireland. He's in charge of personnel as the GM. Sure Philbin has some say but you can't fire Philbin and say its because they mistakenly swapped LBs. Regardless of who pulled the trigger the organization would look completely lost if the coach took the fall for a move like that.

Looks more like an excuse-ridden look at Jeff Ireland.

Agreed. I can't believe we have to address the O-line again this off season in the draft and free agency.

Why can you not believe this?

Long was strung along, strung along and Long felt the Dolphins didn't appreciate or want what he was doing for this team. Simple. They called his bluff he signed with the Rams. Philbin was 100% involved in the process. Philbin I remind you is a career Offensive line coach. How about Clabo, Mckinnie? What happened with Mckinnie? Career Offensive line coach? Obviously we are set with Pouncy since he made the pro-bowl.

Incognito was tasked with getting Martin on board with everything. This kid was supposed to be good. No way either Philbin or Ireland saw the Incognito thing coming. Blew up right in their faces. It is all their faults. We can sit here and cry over spilt milk or we can fix the damn thing. We have got a decent foundation and I am not saying we don't have other issues. The offensive line can be fixed.

Another issue is our TE's and Backs. Our backs can't block worth a damn. A great fix for that situation which works hand -n- hand with the line is to bring in Kubiak as OC. Kubiak is a career TE/Backs coach. We instantly get better, and he runs similar system.

90% of the posters on this board want Ireland fired. Please factually tell us why.

To start I will rebuttal as much as I can that I know. Others please chime in if you are able to add to the discussion in a positive way. I am hoping to avoid and ignore posts where people offer no additional information or want to sling mudd. Of course I am asking for factual information. Stuff you can prove. Not stuff you believe because it fits an agenda.:hclap:

I will start:

Ireland has been here for 6 yrs

1. Under Parcells 11-5 playoffs lost first round
2. Under Parcells 7-9
3 Sparano enters picture, new shemes, complete coaching change(sort of, Parcells still here) 7-9
4 Sparano personal adjustments 6-10, Sparano fired
5. Philbin enters picture, new schemes, complete coaching change 7-9
6. Philbin personal adjustments 8-8 TBD

Ireland has never had more then 1 season building any scheme implemented since he was Hired

I am not interested in starting another Ireland bashing thread as all of them on this board seem to be.

I am trying to elicit honest factual information about the time Jeff Ireland has been here.

Please enlighten
Let's see. You joined Finheaven, a year after the loser (Ireland) got here. Did he bring you to South Florida from wherever you are both from? How much is he paying you to support his sorry performance here? Look Mr. Spy, we are nolonger going to waste precious time detailing his failure here. We have done that plenty enough already. I know I have. He is incompetent and he has to go. You can go with him too. Normally I would say nice try, but it does not apply here.

I still can't get over someone saying that "Sparano entered the picture in 2010". Who the hell coached the Dolphins in 2008 and 2009?

???

Again, more hopeful speculation. There is zero evidence that Ireland is capable of building a competent oline. His only good draft pick had to result from making Pouncey the highest drafted center ever. Ever. You said you wanted to deal with facts but you keep using mostly conjecture and speculation

How many times has Brandon Marshall helped his team to the playoffs? I'll give you a hint...none. It's not that he was traded away, it's that we gave up 2 2nd round picks for him and only got 2 3rd round picks in return and Ireland didn't have a plan to replace him on the roster. Remember that trade happened shortly after Philbin became head coach and there was plenty of time to address the WR corp...instead we went into the season with a rookie QB who had Brian Hartline and 4 undrafted free agent WRs...that's a big fail and not the way you want to develop your supposed QB of the future.

Actually it was Philbin who wanted Marshall gone. He set the tone real quick. You can only receive what someone is willing to give. Unless of course there is some kind of hidden NFL mafia that twists arms and forces deals to occur.

So theoretically, if Ireland can convince Ross to can the HC every 3-4 years, he should be able to keep his job forever because he'd never have a 5 yr cycle.
Phooey!

He's been GM for 6 seasons now and all he's brought us is mediocrity.
Holding on the mediocrity for fear that you'll go in the wrong direction is foolishness. It's time to cut the ginger genius loose. :broken:

No

I never said Ireland shouldn't be fired. Blaming him for everything giving the circumstances is bull squeeze.

If Ireland is fired, then everyone should go.

Why do you guys put words in my mouth?

I never said Ireland shouldn't be fired. Blaming him for everything giving the circumstances is bull squeeze.

Not sure if you realize this but the vast majority here think that everyone should go. Ireland, Sherman, philbin, everyone

Speculation. Just because you really really don't want it to happen doesn't mean its so. I thought you wanted to stick with factual elements instead of the mostly conjecture you're putting out there

Conjecture?

If that was the case we could not have a conversation. There is always missing information. But Ok I believe I understand what you are trying to say.

Again I never said Ireland should not be fired. I question whether he should be or not.

I don't need to look at this draft or that draft. When they occurred, this team and it's current coach had an agenda. There have been 3 different coaches. Each one of those draft's no longer fit the need of the next coach. Because the people drafted don't fit the agendas of the next coach's needs Ireland magically should be fired. That is simply IMO, wrong

But then again that is more Conjecture

Why are you saying "Sparano enters the picture in 2010"?

Sparano was hired by Parcells and became our coach? Parcells exited the picture for the most part shortly there after.

I believe we also had a Owner change, which was the reason Parcells left supposedly because he only wanted to work with Wayne

You do realize that Sparano was the coach when we went to the playoffs in 2008, don't you? There was no scheme change there was no coaching change...it was Wildcat from game 3 of 2008 till Sparano was fired in 2011.

yes of course

Sparano became "our Coach" without being under the thumb of Parcells
