They should definitely try to go more old school with the jersey design.
I can even live with the helmet on the dolphin, if they make the dolphin something other than a cartoon again. The old school logo didn't have a cartoon dolphin.
Love the gray and so far I like your logo the best.
Have you tried getting rid of the dolphin altogether and replacing it with an "M" over the sun? Might look simple, classic and classy all at the same time.
the orange is in the distant background, where it belongs.
i have no idea why some of you are so hung up on looking like the broncos or old tampa bucs.
and besides, ORANGE was NEVER a team color. our true original colors are AQUA and CORAL!!
if you look at orange and coral together, much different. much better! but AQUA is the dominant color and needs to stay that way.
teal is ok [as they are trying to pass off as aqua] but the orange, at least in anything other than SLIGHT accents, has NO PLACE in our unis.

Growing up in the 80's, I was fortunate enough to watch some really great Dolphin teams play in the prime of Marino's career. With that said, I am a huge fan of the classic logo and colors form that time period. The decision would be simple if I were Mike Dee, go back to the old uniforms and colors. Give back to the fans and past players the recognition that they deserve.
We have literally worn throwbacks twice since 1994. Once during the 75th anniversary year in 94 and once in 03' in Dallas. It's upsetting that the patriots, bills, packers, bucs, 49ers, falcons, jets, broncos, vikings, saints, steelers all recognize their past and honor that by wearing throwbacks at least once a year. Some of those teams heard and listened to their fanbase and went back to throwbacks permanently.
It may sound stupid but one victory to put in the win column for the Dolphins would be to honor their own tradition and either wear throwbacks twice a year or go back to them permanently which they should do. I understand that back in 1997 they wanted to "update" their logo. It made decent sense at the time because teams were starting to alter their look and the NFL is very much like keeping up with the jones'. Do whats right Mike Dee and get back to the old colors and classic 1980's uniforms. There was nothing better than to see those colors pop on the TV back in the day. Can't imagine how great they would look on HD now. Look at how great the old helmets look compared to the current ones. The current "Aqua" is literally green in comparison to our old aqua.

Go with the oldschool logo but just have the lines be sharper and have a little more depth to them. I think this would work. I see a lot of people agreeing with the logo with no helmet, if the helmet is the problem I say just keep the thing and don't change anything. The helmet isn't what makes it look silly, makes it look unique if anything.
So, I simply say go with the oldschool logo and just tweak the it slightly. Darkent the orange and aqua slightly, throw in a hint of grey somewhere. Most people don't harp on the logo they harp on the colors.

I'm not complaining, don't care about minor details of the uniform, and I still won't be attending the games. :up:
Way too much blue. Try sticking to the original color scheme and using contrasting colors.

I know I am not in the majority on this one, but I would rather see a new logo vs going with a throwback. Dolphins fans are living in the past. My first choice would be to leave the logo the same.

Well here is my redesign. I went with Gladsadmads color scheme and used the San Jose Sharks logo as inspiration. I am open to tweak it if the ideas are good.
