Attempt at 53 man roster and PS

So 15 players (on average) on every team are UDFAs from that year? That is not remotely true. There may be 30% total in the NFL, but that is cumulative, and is not representative of an individual UDFA's chances of making a final roster. That number is less than 2%.

For example (from 2020) only 33 UDFAs from the previous draft year made opening day rosters (around 2%).

Only 16 teams out of the 32 in the NFL kept a player on their 53 man roster who went undrafted in 2020. What you said may be true, but wasn't really the context of the discussion. The odds of an UDFA sticking are pretty freaking low.

33 per year is pretty good. Roughly one per team. So basically sounds like u have a better chance of someone from your UDFA class making your roster than a 6th or 7th round pick. You just don’t know which guy it will be.

In the past 3 years we’ve added Needham, Preston, and Robert Jones as UDFA’s.

Compare that to our 6th/7th rounders of the past 3 years… Isaiah Prince, Chandler Cox, Gaskin, Malcolm Perry, Blake Ferguson, Gerrid Doaks, Larnel Coleman

Three UDFA’s have contributed to our team in some way over that time. While the only 6th/7th rounders to do anything are Gaskin and a long snapper.

Offense- 11 personnel with Gesicki in the slot. Last spot is basically between Bowden, Williams, Gaskin and Ahmed. I'm assuming Ahmed would actually make it to the PS. Fejedelem is no more.

Carter should have been cut long ago. Kindley won't make it imo. Eich will start at RT. The rest of the offense is pretty close to the way I see it and I'm 99.9% sure that at least one or two layers will make the final 53 that are NOT on the team right now.

I think Chase Edmonds will be the starter at RB and Liam Eichenberg the starter at RT. I also think Mike Gesicki will be lined up at TE and not at WR.

It's not "from that year". The link I provided uses total number of NFL players and finds that about 30% were undrafted. The odds for UDFAs and 6th-7th round picks making a roster are roughly equivalent.

"Players taken in the sixth and seventh-rounds have the toughest time to earn a roster spot. Their odds can fall as low as having a 30-35% chance of making a team. These guys are fighting every day, trying to catch the eye of their coaches. Their odds are often considered just as low as any undrafted rookie who is lucky enough to be invited to training camp. Just don't say that to Tom Brady, who was drafted by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft."

Yes, I was just pointing out the distinction between how many NFL players total went undrafted, and the very low odds that any one individual UDFA has of making an NFL roster.

I don't have an issue with it, but many posters ramble on about this UDFA, or that UDFA, saying they are great and project them to be solid starters out of the gate, when reality and common sense says that it is not very likely.
