This Tannehill thing is a bigger story than it should be because national commentators have little idea about Tannehill's quality of play. Every single beat writer who wrote about the game came away thinking that Philbin needed to consider benching Tannehill. They've seen the failure make certain throws, failure to process certain plays, failure to recognize or elude pressure, and most importantly, the tendency in key game situations to to make decisions which inhibit his team's chances of winning - things like checking to run plays at the wrong time, scrambling at the absolutely wrong time an then not scrambling at the right, going for the big play in a situation where the simply play is vital, taking sacks when that is the absolute one thing that cannot happen on a given play, having an inordinate amount of balls batted at the line which is reflective of his inconsistent technique, etc.

People here make the mistake of assuming that because national sources or even respected sources say something about the Dolphins, that it means they know better than we do. I've watched football intently & intensely for years. I know more about the Dolphins than any national reporter can claim to know. I remember the record of every Dolphins team dating back to 2000. I've seen every throw Tannehill has made in his career, preseason or regular season. Some guy watching highlights & looking at some stats doesn't know more about this team than I do just because he knows football.
