Barry Jackson Gives a Critical Look at the Coaching Staff

Send Ross a resume for Supreme Czar of the Miami Dolphins..

To be sure to get hired under job qualifications just put -

Really 'really' good at scheduling and planning (and not much else).

I'm thinking it may be time to get the protest signs and flying banners out. Except this time it should be about demanding Ross sell the damn team!!!!!!!

Leadership 101.

Respect is earned. It is not given nor is anyone entitled to it by simple decree of title or position.

If Phailbin and company are not respected, it is evidence of their poor leadership skills. Simple as that.

If you watch some of the victory speeches by philbin and look at the players reaction. Some smirking and laughing at Joe. I believe in that story and hope we can make changes to all the coaches

Being fiery doesn't necessarily translate to player passion. And Tom Landry got fire out of his players without going all Mike Ditka on them. The Ravens had a near mutiny on their coaches last year and won the Superbowl. Players need to look in the mirror.

The team rarely played hard for the coaches. It would explain a lot. They sleep walked through most of the games. This team severely underachieved. They got outcoached and outadjusted in almost every game. I normally don't believe speculation, but I believe this report.

Hopefully this lights a fire under Philbin's ass and he begins to step it up.....thats the ONLY good I could see happening from this

I disagree. It may very well be indicative of players looking for excuses rather than looking in the mirror. Lots of people don't respect their boss and it's not a lack of leadership it's a lack of quality followers. Be a man and bring your own fire and preparation. Losers grumble about their superiors to overshadow their own failures.

I think there's a lot of truth in there as it's been mentioned many times, Mike Sherman was not liked at all. Lost in the whole BullyGate Scandal is how the offense was openly upset about how Sherman treated them and how he called games.

Now I think Joe Philbin is smart enough to know he has to change things up, whether he has the fortitude to do it is another question that will be answered soon enough. But his biggest issue over all else is that he is not hands on.

I can't blame the players for feeling how we all feel.

I disagree. Whether they liked or loved their coaches the players played horribly the last 2 games. If they want to act like a 5 year old and make up excuses that's more than their right. And a lot ppl will buy what they are selling.

I blame the team for their production the last 2 games. Players, coaches, the ball boy all the way to the owner.

Honestly who gives a crap if they like their coaches. They are paid to win and play hard every down. Shame on the players using this is as an excuse.

He did him a disservice? He put our season on his shoulders, pretty sure most athletes are "me" types and would love nothing more than to get the opportunity to be the hero. The Bills and Jets were 1 and 5 in rushing attempts, how'd that work out for them?

Everything Philbin is doing I believe he's doing to expedite Tannehill's learning curve, we'll find out a lot this season if its working. Personally, I'm predicting Tannehill is going to put up some huge numbers, like franchise record setting type numbers.

I still have high hopes as he is the best QB on our team and still a young player. Most QB's don't have to try to break incredible Franchise Records from QB's like Dan The Man Marino..lol. Did Tanny break the all time single season sack record? lol... He may break some records, but I don't see him breaking the big single season passing records for this team.

I hope I am wrong and he breaks them all and leads this team to multiple Super Bowls before he retires. But I will be fine with being a Top 15 QB that puts his team in position to win games on Sunday.

A source informed the Miami Herald that Dolphins players don't have "great respect for the coaching staff there."
"Criticism of the coaches is consistent with everyone I talk to on the team," said the source. "You have some assistants who weren’t experienced or comfortable in their jobs. Some players said they didn’t learn much. It’s pretty disconcerting. There’s not a lot of great teaching there." This mostly has to do with position coaches and coordinators, but even head coach Joe Philbin is taking some heat from inside the locker room. He's been described as "flat" and "unemotional," while another said Philbin's just a guy who's "on top of scheduling and planning." Philbin's seat will be one of the hotter ones in 2014, especially with a new GM coming to town.

Nobody would be surprised by that. You don't blow the last two games that badly, if you're motivated to play, and believe in your coaches and the system. We've all been saying this for a long time.

how is this a black eye? He got the Browns to take him without them doing their due diligence.

Bill Belichick breaks the leauge rules and we are suppose to love that guy! yeah, integrity. It all depends on your agenda.

i thought the point was to get rid of your damaged goods any means necessary...good for us **** the Browns players dont come with full disclosure warranties like houses
