If we win out, we're almost certain to get in. Instead of watching the scoreboards... just hope our team takes care of business.

they way the playoff machine has it we need to win the rest of our games and the ravens need to lose 1...we shall see...

essentially if the bengals lost two games out of three and the ravens WIN 2 our of three the ravens could win the division and the the bengals will lose the tiebreak with us based n head to head, so saying they will "rest their starters" three weeks from now is stupid,

if we win out and the ravens win out then cinci needs a 2nd loss for us to get in...
if we win out and cinci wins out then we get in
Right now . . . the ONLY way we do not make it in as a 10-6 team is:
Baltimore wins out (wins over Lions, Pats, Bengals)
Cincy goes 2 -1 (wins over Pitt and Minnesota but a loss to Bmore)
New England goes 1-2 (losses to us and Bmore, but a week 17 win against Buffalo)

We could also win the division if NE losses its final 3 games and we win our final 3 games.

New England loses out and goes 10-6....
Cincy loses to Pitt and Baltimore and goes 10-6....
Colts go 2-1 in the last three losing to Chief and finish at 10-6 that means.........................................

We get first round bye because of head to head wins against Cincy and Indianapolis. How crazy would that be? Not impossible but highly highly unlikely.

i thought about this last night and yeah its very possible...although i wonder if the bengals would just want to eliminate the ravens all together if they can in that final week game by beating them

You would think that they would rather have us then them. But health concerns may be more of concern to them. If I were them I would want to knock out everyone I could and go in on a hot streak.
That should be a lesson learned for the bengals.

I would HOPE that Marvin Lewis would've learned his lesson from a few years back, when he rested his starters against the jets, lost that game, which got the jets in the playoffs in a rematch, which the jets then won again! I remember thinking how stupid that was when he did that! Lets hope they learned!!

good points...if it's me and i'm lewis i would want to eliminate the ravens vs maybe face em in the playoff opener as the 6 seed
the only guy he really rested was Benson b/c I think he wad dinged up, they played the rest of their regulars through the first half where we were crushing them 27-0.
