Breaking News: Mike Pouncey not likely to be punished by the NFL

I have been known to close bars in So Be at 5 AM, and move on to an "after-after hours place, meaningless to this discussion. Our team is trying to overcome negative press, and Pouncey is well aware of that, and should try to help more than hinder.

I mentioned Jackson in Philly earlier, who was not wanted on suspicion of his friends. He is a much better player but, the team chose to let him go, in spite of being a potential contender. Different strokes for different folks, and I would prefer to move on from his lack of maturity in just thinking about himself. JMO

It absolutely is important...if you are a shut in, you have no idea about going out to party, esp in a city like Miami. I really doubt someone who closes bars at 5, would have such a problem with Pouncey going out on his BDay. Sounds a little hypocritical holding someone when they have done nothing wrong, when you have been known to do similar regularly.

I didn't know we were basing our roster on what Philly has done. Let me know when they win something.

Yes, money and diva personality got Jackson cut. I have no doubt about that. It was going on with Andy Reid, but Reid was a softy. Chip Kelley wouldn't stand for it. I spent 8 years in Philly, and I know the rumblings of that town, and it wasnt about gangs. It was about the whining diva personality.

"But what a number of sources close to and around the team, including current and former players, as well as additional sources within the Eagles revealed was that Jackson was not very well liked by his teammates, was blatantly insubordinate, with temper tantrums cussing out Kelly several times in front of the team, pushed the NFL rookie coach the way “a child would test boundaries,” and was more concerned with his rap label than he was about winning football games."

Philly took a $12.5M cap hit this year, and got nothing.

Exactly.

As I said before let Pouncey walk not because of the bullying case (that stuff was WAY overblown) but because of all his other stuff he has going on, most of which was brought into semi-light by the Incognito texts.

If someone wants to talk about hypocracy then lets see who screams "scumbag" if/when Pouncey's lifestyle finally gets him in trouble. I bet alot of those folks will be the same people that advocated keeping him in this thread just because he was "pretty good at football". Nevermind it's at a position that a competent replacement is relatively easy to find.

An all pro center is easy to find? Esp a young one that has the potential to anchor our line for years? Laughable....

If we start cutting guys for texts, tweets, or going out late....we won't have much of a team.

You mean like 10 playoff games since we won our last?

they got rid of a cancer.

I'll feel the same way.

If Desean Jackson played out his contract with Philly, Philly would take a cap hit of $35 million dollars over 3 years

If Desean Jackson gets cut by Philly, they take a cap hit of $12.5 million over 1 year.

See the difference?

well, until there are reports of Pouncey yelling at his coaches, and being a diva in the locker room, and teammates not liking him, I won't consider him a cancer to the team...perhaps he's a cancer to himself, but who are we to judge, as long as he can still play at a high level.

True, but they did a lot better with Divas on their team.

At least their divas were in positions that help the team win, so they had that going for them. If I had to choose between having a ****head like Pouncey and a ****head like Jackson, it would be Jackson, without question. Of course, I'd rather have neither.

heh, the oline is the most important part of an offense. that has been the case since the sport began, it will always be that way. unless they take them away and play flag football, and can't go after the qb after 3 Mississippi. I don't care how talented your skill positions are, without a competent oline, you got nothing.

It depends on the problem. If a player is a huge lockerroom presence that has off field issues, that sounds a lot different to me than someone who is an ass in the lockerroom who disturbs the team regularly.

On our crappy line, let me know what competent replacement you see out there.

If it was that easy, this would not be an issue.....

yet another case of fans wanting to get rid of a solid player, without having a replacement for him. or thinking just getting an average center will be good enough, just because they don't like the guy.

Heh, that's QB. You can win playoff games with a competent o-line. You can get to .500 with a competent QB.
