C Ted Karras speaking on the snap issues/Should we resign or draft a replacement?

Good that it happens now so it can be corrected. It doesnt need to happen when a game really matters in the playoffs. Looks like the angels in heaven are riding the dolphins bandwagon. Coach Flores is the break we needed. He has us headed in the right direction. GO PHINS.

Now... is anyone content with the idea of paying Karras this much? Because that is what he is going to ask for... and he's likely to get it... from someone.

I might be in the minority but I would love to see the line continue with Karras for another year. I assume he is the one that makes the first line calls and manages a lot of the communication and with such a young line having a bit of consistency might be nice. I am ok with drafting a center in the 2nd or 3rd and grooming him to replace but Ted has done a good job for us this year.

Oh I wouldn't mind keeping him for a low dollar deal, but that isn't really how the economics of the NFL works.

Guys have an extremely limited window to cash in, and these guys have wives and children to support. They plan their lives on hitting that one big FA contract. Karras will be 28 and NOW is the time to cash in.

I posted what the top 15 Centers make. He'll expect to get that... or just short of that. He'd be a fool to sign for much less.

This is why the Patriots lets guys go every year, and why they always had so many compensatory picks. They'd let these good-but-not-great guys walk away, rather than overpay them. They remained as strong as they did because they managed their cap well, and this after giving Brady a huge % of that cap.

Didn't belicheat just get done whining about how his team sucks because of the cap hell his championships put him in?
