Carter is a Waste

No I think we should re-sign Jeff Ogden - he would be far better for the Fins than somebody who only catches TD and 1st downs  :p

That is definitely no the only not on "Cryin" Chris Carter. He divides his teamates, causes dissention, bad-mouths and second guesses coaches, is selfish, and whines when things don't go his way. Too competative isn't one of the knocks I've ever heard on the guy.

Chambers 84 has it right, if the 'Fins are going to go after a quality, hard working, WR who would come cheap, McCardell is the man. He works his butt off, never complains, and does nothing but make plays. He would be a good acquisition.

I didn't realize that you are in the Vikings locker room. I think we have all the same resources on reports out of the Viking camp. Everything i have read sais he is a team leader in the locker room, he took flak last season for pushing a LB on the Vikings durring a game because he fealt like he was doging it(I wish someone would have pushed many memebers of the Dolphins D durring many meltdowns over th epast 2 years), he took flak for jumping in Randy's face on the sideline(I think everyone in the NFL wants to jump in Randy's face), and he took flak for getting on Daunte for not getting him the ball enough(I have never heard of a WR not complaining that they don't get the ball enough). The bottom line is the Vikings had a complete meltdown from day 1 last year. They were under the microscope since Korey died(God rest his soul), then for not playing up to the level many foolishy thought a team w/o a rb, and defense could play at, then with the rumors flying about Denny, add to that Randy Moss pissed off every fan, player, and coach in the NFL last season. The media made a spectacl out of nothing, ran CC name in the mud very undeservingly.

Well I most definitely disagree Expo88 !! C-Carter is in great physical shape, can still (which IMOP is amaising after playing 16 years) that he can still draw double coverage, runs excellent passing routes, and will go across the middle- HOLD ON to the ball - and get the tough yard or yard in a half to keep the chains moving !!! If I remember correctly, in some of my earlier posts about Carter I believe that the problems that happened last season in Minnesota were more D - Greens (non disciplined) way of coaching than what you have paraphrased C- Carter to be. I was one of the skeptical persons when the Raiders signed J-Rice,, and he had a very good year, IMOP Carters upside is 3x that J-Rice and if he has just a mediocre season for the Phins (as far as stats) then Chambers and Mcknight will have Pro Bowls seasons this season ... Marino1983 :)

What a bunch of BS!

Chris Carter has been a distraction for longer than two years in Minn.
He needs to let the QB run the offense and he need to "just get open"
And the reason WHY they doubled Gadsen in the red zone was because we didn't have a running game so defenses took the biggest red zone threat away.
Of course Carter would improve the talent pool of the WRs but at what price, the Fins need to take care of the O-line to improve the rushing attack and that will open up the passing game more, and they need to avoid signing Carter because he happens to be out there in the FA market.
Yes we could use another WR but we don't need Carter.
If he was so keen on winning a SB then why was he ready to sign with Cleavland........MONEY.

Sorry guys that's just my opinion, improve the O-line have a deadly rushing attack and the passing game will be just fine.
Also sign Sinclair at DE would be nice.

:monkey:Carter

I would like sinclair as well, but Dave is obviously set on signing a WR since he has has 2 interveiws with wrs, and 1 phone call with CC. He is not however meeting with any o-lineman, he probably will use his first draft pick on o-line. If this is wrong or right it is his descion to make, all I am saying if we are going to aquire a wr then it should be CC. You know there is another way to build a running game besides a great o-line witch obviously we wont have, get a passing game that puts fear in your opponet(see Dominic Rhodes rushing for 1000 yards as proof). And since Jay, Chambers, Gadsen, Ward, and Mcknight couldn't do it last season why not bring in a guy that every coach in the league knows can kill you on any given sunday?

...Kylie Wong is and since the guy is 1st cousins with my brother in law (they talk a lot and are very close) I'm able to get a lot of information. According to Wong, most of the guys on the team do not like either Wong or Moss. And as far as him not being a distraction you'd have to be blind, deaf, and dumb to miss that. I've said it before and I'll say it now; why to you think Carter has been totally shunned by the Rams? It's because the coaching staff, as well as the team leaders, had a lot of questions about him. He was supposed to fly in to meet with them but then he showed his true colors by going for the bucks instead of the ring by waiting on the Browns so the Rams cancelled any and all talks with Cryin Chris. How often do you hear about a guy who has so many questions about his character that a coaching staff wants to have the entire team leadership meet with the guy to ensure he won't screw things up? I've never heard of it before.

This debate will rage on as to whether Carter should be a 'Fin or not but there is no questioning the fact that Carter is a disruption and a distraction.

McCardell would be pretty sweet, he did some great stuff with the Jags. My buddy is a big Jags fan and met him at an autograph session, and he said ol' cornrows McCardell is pretty cool.

Honestly i'm noy trying to be blind and i think maybe i've been blinded, more like star struck...Yes Cris Carter is a B*&*th but maybe its because he was on a losing team last year, and maybe its because Randy Moss doesnt play hard...If your star player isnt playing hard of course he is going to be pissed of...We dont call Zach a bad team player because he sometimes disses the performence of other players..Its just trying to light a spark so the guys might wake up....and PLAY HARD...Besides CC wont push around Zach Tomas or DG or Jason Taylor, and besides if he does become a pain...BENCH him..we've got other receivers, and last year in Minnessota it was only CC and Moss, since Smith retired...I mean I think CC's biggest problem was Moss.. and besides if we do sign him cheap i say TAKE HIM NOW...He would be good leadership and he is the 2nd best WR in Nfl History...SO WANNY ...............................SIGN HIM.........and we will be on our way to th Super Bowl...GO FINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I want a guy that isn't afraid to go up a guy like Bownes or Gardner and push im in the chest and tell him to start playing like he means it, like he did to that lb in Minnisota. You people aren't getting the whole story, ......
.......maybe Miami needs a little of his "personality flaws".

Another "pretty good" player had that same in-your-face intensity personality flaw and would call out players that weren't producing........... You might remember him........
A little known Hall of Famer named Dan Marino!

If calling out slackers and telling them to get on the damn ball is a bad thing then I'm for bad things!

I've heard these stories before.....

My best friend's brother's cat sitter is married to a guy who sits next to a guy every night at a strip club which knows the mechanic of the equipment manager of the Vikings.
Whatever he says is FACT not hearsay or an opinion.

What's your problem Trek, did you get beat up by real atheletes in high school or something. If you have another opinion that's fine but there's a reason I post my any sources I may have: because they actually exist. I'm sorry that that the only connections you have are the ones that will get you into the trekkie convention to play with a phaser.

Get a grip and post opinions, not attacks. :fire:

Hopefully one of your "connections" is with not only Dale Jarret but also Mark Martin.

One of my sources tells me that you need help from Mr. Martin's team sponsor...... Viagra:p

Furthermore,

I don't have a problem.
I just posted my opinion on another thread and you took offense to it. Then proceeded to assume that I'm a "Treekie" when I am a distributor for a mountain bike line called Trek.
