Casserly: Fins will interview McCoy, also look at Carmichael and Pagano

and the only reason mccoys name is being mentioned is because they were a horrible team (still with him being OC) with orton.... then they switched to tebow and brought out the gimmick offense and there defense stepped it up a ton and won a few game... and have only beat ONE team with a winning record (STEELERS). How does that make him more qualified

heck if being able to bring a gimmick into the nfl has have a bit of success and win a few games then david lee should have been at top of your HC list a few years back

I stated in a thread I started earlier today that I really like Pagano. He has the credentials and is beloved by his Raven's defensive players. Ray Lewis recommends him for a HC because Lewis says Pagano is ready. It's funny for me because of all the candidates available I think the two I like the most are defensive guys, being Pagano and Zimmer. Of course that doesn't matter as long as they have an attacking offensive philosophy and get the right OC.

lets see the guy (mmcoy) who developed a QB who throws for under 50% a game or a guy (carmichael) who has helped develop a QB and system that prduced a B who just broke nearly every single season passing record hmmmmmmmm... id say McCoy is the most qualified to develop a QB..... NOT!

the broncos def coord deserves WAY more credit for winning the game than tebow and mccoy
What McCoy is doing with Tebow this year is less important than what he's done throughout his career. How he managed to make Delhomme and Orton look like quality NFL QBs was a miracle. And Brees was in the league 8 years and had won an MVP before Carmichael worked with him directly but whatever... Brees and Pete go way back but to say he developed him is a huge reach.

Fair assessment. I am worried for Zimmer in that if they really did like him they would not be interviewing additional candidates.
After missing on Fisher, Ross stating that they were waiting to interview coordinators on playoff teams doesn't bode very well for the candidates already interviewed. Personally, I like and respect Zimmer as a coordinator, but that doesn't necessarily make for a good HC.

really hmmmm because he has been brees QB coach/ passing game coach since 2006! which was his first year with the saints... he had a couple of good seasons with the chargers but wasnt a top 5 elite QB until after he worked with carmichael in NO

McCoy can DEVELOP a QB and build around his talents...he has proven that this year.

So Tebow has developed? He looks marginally better from his UF days.

McCoy hasn't proven squat this year. They had to choose between Orton and Tebow. I'd hate to have to make that choice. I'm watching NE destroy this Bronco offense as I'm typing this and NE's defense sucks.

If I have to choose one of these guys then I'm going to choose Zimmer. He's done wonders with that defense in Cincy. If you look at that personel, that defense has no business being that good. Cincy has the worst (and smallest) scouting department in the NFL. They couldn't pick an apple (they drafted Dalton in the 2nd round ). Zimmer has coached that defense up to the point that it got them into the playoffs.

I guess Sean Payton has nothing to do with the offense in San Diego.

I think he has gotten a ton out of a bad QB.

Zimmer is a heck of a choice.

He was a pro bowler in SD and you'd think the jump in production would have had more to do with Payton's offense. But Carmichael does deserve some credit and I'd agree he's qualified to develop a QB, but I don't see him as an HC.. yet. Let him call plays for a year or OC outside of Payton's shadow first.

he has called the plays for over half this season and the production hasnt fallen off. and im not say he made brees what he is but he definately deserves some credit in brees development (heck brees gives him a lot himself) but dont underestimate what PCjr has done just cuz he is being overshadowed by payton... heck a lot of coaches are far less qualified and get HC shots and succeed
