Coaches will limit Miami Dolphins rookie Dion Jordan for remainder of season

If Dion Jordan went to the Philadelphia Eagles he'd have 11 sacks right now and would be on pace to be named the Defensive Rookie of the Year.

I feel sorry that he got drafted by us.

Miami is where talent goes to die.

fire these unimaginative ****ers right now. they can't figure out how to use elite players on offense, and now apparently on defense.

Yup! In a limited role, Jordan is already directly responsible for 2 INTS...

I have 0 problem with them trading up for a "playmaker". Hit or miss, the logic is sound - time to stop giving up on Earl Thomas for Jared Odrick and Koa Misi. I'm glad we went after someone who could make an impact on the game. Too bad it hasn't panned out so far, but you can't fault them for trying.

By the way though, wasn't Jason Taylor considered weak against the run most of his career? I don't think that stopped him from being a 3 down player and becoming a Defensive player of the year among being one of the best defensive ends of last decade.

He should be playing full time right now. That's how you get better. It's not like Vernon is great against the run either..he loses containment or gets pushed out constantly. The bucs ran it down his throat. And if you're not gunna play him at DE then let him get snaps at OLB. He's better than Wheeler even without practicing that position at all.
You have probably the most physically gifted player on our team and you can't get him on the field against running teams? Even though we couldn't stop the run anyways? Riiiiiight

A top 10 pick used mainly on special teams...hmmm, where have I seen this movie before?

And he finally found his spot and correct role in Carolina. I'm sure that team and his family are all happy about the situation. :)

Then why draft him so high?....you don't take a project at #3 and according the the staff, that's what he is at this point.
Ozzy rules!!

That's a separate argument. They gambled on a impact player, and so far the DC thinks MIA is better off with him on the bench on 1 and 2nd downs.

Failbin forward fast!

Idiots, morons, buffoons, Neanderthals, mentally challenged, dumb*sses, mother f*ckers, pricks, pieces of sh*t. Anything else this idiotic coach staff can be called? Please chime in because I'm all ears. Screw this staff.

Are you kidding? I have no idea what this coaching staff thinks when it comes to football!:hsmash:

Despite trading up to draft Dion Jordan with the No. 3 overall pick, Dolphins defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle said Tuesday that Jordan will continue to see limited action this season.
Jordan appeared in just nine snaps — or 14 percent of Miami’s defensive plays — in Monday’s 22-19 loss to Tampa Bay. Even with the limited snaps, Jordan produced two hurries on six quarterback dropbacks. He also played on 66 percent of Miami’s special team snaps.
Tampa Bay is a run-heavy team, and Coyle said Jordan will continue to see action in passing situations only.
“Dion is not going to be in there where teams are slugging it out running the football,” Coyle said. “This team threw the ball 21 times in the game, and he was in there for half of them in the rotation that he’s playing in right now. If teams are going to be featuring certain personnel and running the football on first and second down, that’s not Dion’s strength at this point in his time here with us. That’s not going to change this season.”

Why would a coach ever come out and say that? Coaches dont even like to comment on injuries...

I'm thinking this is BS.

I don't even know if Ireland can be blamed because this staff refuses to utilize them. This staff is a joke.

If it was just him, I'd think he just wasn't living up to the place he was picked. However, they have this approach with damn near every rookie. They just refuse to give them time and let them take their lumps. Eerily reminiscent of Sparano. Hell, it's not like the guys playing in their places are lighting it up.

Jordan sucks at run defense? What do they say about the chumps that were out there against Tampa, when their 3rd and 4th stringers ran all over us?

Wow. How many nails in the coaching staff's coffin is that now?

Can't wait till this waste of a season is over and we'll have coaches who know a thing or two about football.
