The last four head coaches Adam Gase, Joe Philbin, Tony Sparano, and Cam Cameron.
All are first-time head coaches.
See a pattern? This team has sucked since Pornstache ran it in the ground.
Get a proven veteran Head Coach, the Chiefs completely rebuilt this organization when they hired Andy Ried.
The Dolphins have sucked so long, hiring the next hot assistant it's working.
Get Mike Shanahan
I'm not against first time HCs, but you have a fair point.
Part of the problem is the "next hot assistant" fallacy. Just because a guy has been a coordinator for a successful franchise, doesn't mean he has what it takes to be HC.
What has Gase ever done? Won as OC with Manning? Shocker!!!
He only had 3 yes as OC, in any capacity. Other than that, he was a glorified coffee fetcher, going back to LSU. Heck, Loggins is more qualified than Gase in reality.
Same basic story with some of the other bozos we've had (Cameron, Philbin, etc)
I don't think our interview process, if there even is one, is effective.
Usually I don't like retread coaches on their fourth or fifth chance, but there are exceptions. I wouldn't complain if Shannahan was here.
You don't find Andy Reid quality guys in the unemployment line very often though.
