Coaching Change??

I understand the argument to stop the churning at head coach but if we do allow Gase to choose his own guy in 2019 and give him time with that new QB when has that ever worked out in the past? I can't think of a single example. And furthermore why trust Gase to select a good QB? He pushed the Broncos to draft Osweiller. And he 'came here for Tannehill.'
Agreed. No more mulligans for Gase. He dumped a ton of talent in the name of “culture change”, got the guys he wanted to run HIS system and even at 3-0 we still looked sickly. Playoffs or bust this year or next. That’s it. Oh, and he needs to fire Burke. He stinks.

The way the AFC East is, Tom Brady will be winning Superbowls when he's 65 years old and Belichick will coach until he turns 100.
Isn’t it amazing that in 17-18 years NONE of the other teams in the AFC East could hit on a QB to build around and challenge the Pats? We’ve seen domination for 4-6 year swings, perhaps 10 at most. But this is ridiculous.

Bills , Dolphins , NY Jets are all a joke ! I hate to say this but all 3 of them are the laughing stock the NFL . No wonder the Patriots always win that division that is one of the big reasons .
I have never like that Patriots . We will play them this Monday night and will get massacred .
You guys are playing the NY Jets . Hard to tell how you will do but you did beat them earlier in the season maybe a sweep ? I am guessing a win against the NY Jets and a loss against the Packers the following Sunday
AFC EAST PREDICTION
New England 11-5
Miami 7-9
NY Jets 5-11
Buffalo 3-13

During the 2000 - current time period....

Jets - 6 head coaches
Buffalo - 10 head coaches
Miami - 9 head coaches

But lets keep firing them and bring in the next group of guys....that has worked out so well for these teams.

Be careful what you wish for.

for the people saying get mcdaniels, he failed the first time but will be good or that hes going to be NE's next coach (prob true) I hope yall aren't the same people that say gase got credit for holding Mannings coffee. cause really mcdaniels is pretty much just handing brady his coffee correct?

Don't worry, your team will get a victory over us on your home field. Maybe 3-2. LOL

The Dolphins, Jets and Bills have all sucked at finding a top notch QB for many years now.

Exactly, and how many of those teams draft a QB every year? Most people seem to forget drafting an elite QB is a significant part LUCK. Brady is exhibit 1. Ryan Leaf is exhibit 2. It's fun and cathartic to blame the FO and or scouts, but luck is there big time. There's a reason teams draft QBs strategically, and even then they're wrong most of the time - mostly because there are 3-4 elite QBs every decade.

The last four head coaches Adam Gase, Joe Philbin, Tony Sparano, and Cam Cameron.
All are first-time head coaches.

See a pattern? This team has sucked since Pornstache ran it in the ground.

Get a proven veteran Head Coach, the Chiefs completely rebuilt this organization when they hired Andy Ried.

The Dolphins have sucked so long, hiring the next hot assistant it's working.

Get Mike Shanahan

I'm not against first time HCs, but you have a fair point.

Part of the problem is the "next hot assistant" fallacy. Just because a guy has been a coordinator for a successful franchise, doesn't mean he has what it takes to be HC.

What has Gase ever done? Won as OC with Manning? Shocker!!!

He only had 3 yes as OC, in any capacity. Other than that, he was a glorified coffee fetcher, going back to LSU. Heck, Loggins is more qualified than Gase in reality.

Same basic story with some of the other bozos we've had (Cameron, Philbin, etc)

I don't think our interview process, if there even is one, is effective.

Usually I don't like retread coaches on their fourth or fifth chance, but there are exceptions. I wouldn't complain if Shannahan was here.

You don't find Andy Reid quality guys in the unemployment line very often though.

The criticism against Ross is unfounded. The “great” Joe Robbie let Zonk, Mercury Morris, Paul Warfield walk because he has too cheap to pay them. The garbage collector hired Wandstadt, bought the team from the distressed Robbie family for 200 mill, and sold for 1 bill, Ross is not the problem. The people around him like Tannenbaum are.
Ross hired Tannenbaum even though Tannenbaum destroyed the Jets. He also hired Sparano, Philbin, and Gase. Therefore it IS Ross' fault. The person who hires the crappy employee is partially responsible for the crappy employee's performance. Seems pretty straight forward to me.

And how many of those 22 fired coaches (3 are current) went on to have success elsewhere as a HC? You can't call Bowles a success by any stretch. Mularkey with the Titans?

So, what's your answer then...stick with the incompetent & perennially failure bound because it's cozy & familiar??? BS!!....keep casting the net and a some point you might find a keeper...though, with the Dolphins it won't be through smart decisions by the idiot owner or FO but through dumb luck....whatever, we'll take it!
