Compelling proof that Cogs is not racist -- tho he uses racial language in an NFL way

No doubt this behavior happens amongst groups of friends but do you:

a. Threaten them and their family?
b. Tell them you want to **** in their mouth?
c. Extort 15,000 from them to help finance a trip they don't participate in?

I have 4 kids, 2 of which are half Okinawan and 2 are half Mexican and numerous friends of different races, ethnic, cultural and financial backgrounds and we crack on each other but never does a-c or anything close come into the conversation.

Bottom line is your relationship with your friends is far stronger than the relationship we are viewing here.
To you and I yes this may be extreme but to them it might not be.. honestly its hard to put perspective when your not in their position.
We honestly have no clue as outsiders how strong their relationship really was or was not. But we will know soon enough :)

What people are missing is that because it is acceptable among many of the people you work with doesnt mean its ok to say these things to someone that doesnt want to hear such things. Im in the army and I hear many things said among soldiers that to them they find ok to say doesnt mean I have to condone it and that doesnt make it right

Back up LD, He didn't say Pouncey was going to be the best man at his wedding and Pouncey didn't say Incognito was going to be his best man.

What he said, and I quote:

"Mike Pouncey N****. F*** this shirt."

Some guy then says, "Listen...I need a best man at my wedding".

Incognito yelling: "Who wants to f*** with me? This is motherfu***** sh**" He then walks up to Pouncey and says, "Mike Pouncey mother******".

Random guy then yells out again, "You're the best man at my wedding...Love you man, your the best man at my wedding". At this point Incognito approached them and bows up. Pouncey then wraps him up, backs him up and says whatever he said to calm him down and get him to the other side of the bar away from these guys.

Pouncey then says, "no pictures...no pictures".

CLEARLY even Pouncey knew this was a bad situation and didn't want any pics of it to get out there.

I realize you are an Incognito apologist at this point, but if you are going to put things out there get it right. Facts are facts and I laid out nothing but the facts from this video. Try again.

I have never used the word in my life. It is about making right decisions in life. I hate the excuse, "well they use it to each other" or "it is said in locker rooms all over the country".

You are either part of the problem or part of the solution. Be above it and promote change. You are starting to see a turn from the black community to stop the use of this word to each other and until that change happens this "excuse" will still be thrown out there by simpletons.

I don't know what to say about this issue anymore....

At first I thought Martin was just being a *****. Then the VMs surfaced that made Incog look like a racist, so I considered that maybe it was Richie being a terrible human.

After listening to the players discuss things, it very well may seem as if things were taken out of context. He's known as the guy thats always cracking jokes, sometimes going over the top; but the players would have said something (assuming they heard the Vms) and stepped in. Philbin also said Martin didn't come to him with the issue.

I think Martin had a plan all along. He slowly built a case and after his demotion rolled with what he had. IMO, he has hurt this franchise so bad I WOULD NEVER allow him back...EVER on the team if it were up to me.

Also, even though I like Philbin as a coach, I dislike him as a leader. This all ends up on him IMO. The captain will have to eventually sink with this ship and he will go along with Incog and Martin.

Guys, Incog was one of my favorite Dolphins, one of the FEW with FIRE that you need on a football team let alone on an offensive line. But the bottom line is that him (along with the situation) has become toxic to say the least so sadly, all three should be cut from the team.

At the end of the day I just want to get back to football. The media sucks big time (ask Tim Tebow----they pretty much ruined his career----or aided in ruining his career---aside from his skill level...they didn't help) Hopefully the investigation is quick and Early in the week so our players have time to refocus on whats at hand..and thats Tampa Bay on MNF.

Martin was still a starter I dont buy that and why people keep blaming the media for bringing this ugly mess to light is beyond silly. Incognito was the idiot calling out reporters for supposedly linking him and then magically it turns out he was the guy that the issue was about.

Exactly! Incognito didn't delete those tweets because he was right. He deleted them because he was so wrong and it was more damning information against him.

What baffles me about this whole situation, is the post were somebody provided a picture of Martin incognito and a fan.
Insert picture Martin is grinning from ear to ear, and looks like a man anything but scared of incognito.

That was not proof that Richie isn't racist. Not in the slightest. He may be at the lower end of the racist scale, or the middle, or the top, idk, but he is certainly on the racist scale.

this is the most disgusting thread I have ever read on this site ...... rationalizing to justitfy the use of one of the racist words in history , I don't know any of you personally ,but im beginning to have doubts about ya ......

the word has become so diluted over time...I'm not condoning the use of it but in mean black people say it in almost every sentence to each other. the n word probably is said constantly in NFL locker rooms ...example, "good game my ****a" "damn ****a you really crushed Brady on that hit" " "yea but that pick tho, my ****a, talk about being in the right place at the right time, lucky ass ****a"

that's probably a post game conversation between 2 black players on an NFL team. I'f you don't think stuff like that is said in a locker room your nuts.

I don't believe Cogs is racist, but considering his past, I do believe he is a bully. And a bully does not hold back any punches and will do whatever it takes to get under your skin, whether it be with racial slurs or whatever it takes. A bully will attack your weakness and if racial slurs bother you then he will keep using them.

But at no point do I think Cogs used racial slurs because he hates black people. It was used more as an attack on his victim, whom by the way is only half black.

by my comment I was basically just backing up the ops point that that kind of language is typical in locker rooms I'm not defending richie

I don t disagree with your post . look , Im a black man and the conversation youre talking about happened all the time, with me and my black team mates when I was in collage and high school , but it was used as respect , not as a insult ...... incognito used that word as an insult to martin and that's all there is to .I have white friends , but they could never call me that word and get away it , theres just too much history of hate behind the word. im sorry if some people cant understand where im coming from , but the word has two different meaning ,I all depends on what race you are ...... icognitno is the wrong race and definitely used it the wrong way .

I totally understand where you're coming from...I was simply backing up the Ops point of how this kind of talk is commonplace in locker rooms, I'm not condoning the use of it in a disrespectful manner. I get the difference in how it is used.

See, it is commonplace until someone gets offended by it.. And then the person who is offended is belittled when they have every right to be offended.

Remeber, the people who do not follow status quo, and stray from the mean, are the people that drive change.
