Coolest Dolphin Player

Who is the coolest Dolphin Player you have ever met? I'm talking the most personable, didn't have an attitude, signed your autograph type. Zach and JT are at the top of my list.

Marino was great to me.

Took a pic, signed a helmet and seemed all around nice.

Coolest player I ever met was Terry Bradshaw.
I drove a Limo getting through a tough time with my business while I was in Dallas TX.

Drove Bradshaw to a gig.
He is as crazy and personable as you see on TV.
Talked my ear off the entire drive and signed an autograph.
Was like driving around Bo or Luke Duke, good ole boy to the core!

Actually Both Zach and JT.

I met both of those guys in Heidelburg Germany on a USO tour. They visited Patrick Henry Army Kaserne there. I remember they were stunned to see me sporting a ZT jersey, my wife sporting a JT jersey, and my two kids each wearing a Marino and ZT jersey. Doesn't seem like a big deal, but overseas at an Army base; it definitely caught them off guard. Anyway, I asked Zach if he still sleeps with a poster of Junior over his bed. Zach leans over to JT and told him; "see what you started man". They were both very cool. They signed a ton of Dolphin gear that we brought and we talked for 15 minutes. I asked Zach about Sammy Knight (new addition at the time) and he was raving about him.

The second was Larry Izzo and Warrick Dunn during their USO tour to Iraq. They arrived a couple of hours after a mortar attack. Larry was amused to see that I had printed a picture of him as a Dolphin from one of the local fire bases. He gave me a hard time and signed the picture while also putting "go Patriots" on it. We then talked about my specialty--Psychological Warfare. He was pretty intrigured about what we did. Warrick Dunn was awesome too.

I know many of them well.

It's not even close who is nicest, friendliest & most fun to be around. It's Zach.

I've seen him get approached by some of the strangest folks. Some real weirdo-s. Some true goofballs. And STILL he treats them like his friends. I've asked him how he's able to do that. And his reaction = dude, I get $5 mil a year to do just what I just did. Great perspective attached to that thick neck.

Now his brother-in-law is great too, but I've seen him get easily irritated by some fans (as I would too). Junior is very friendly, but is always intense and tends to initimidate even off the field. Sam Madison is real cool - always joking around. Ricky, as strange as he is, is very interesting. articulate & smart. Marty Booker suffers just as much social anxiety as Ricky - betcha didn't know that. Chris Chambers is second to Zach, as all around nice guy, real fan friendly.

The only true prick is no longer with the team - I never liked Feeley, and most of the other players felt this way too.

My $.02 from being around these guys more than the average fan.

How do you get to be around these guys more than the average fan? You always have insightful and funny things to say, too. Everytime you post it makes me laugh!

Nick Saban would probably be a good chat with you too - he'd make a good psych ops specialist!

Larry & Zach were inseperable their first 2 years or so. What a bunch of tazmanian devils. Good times all across the ft. lauderdale nightclub scene with those guys. One night, at Club Iguana or something - at beach place, Zach & I got in a pretend-fight. Now I'm 6'3, 185, and he pinnned me against the wall, a foot off the ground. Izzo came and tackled him, releasing me to the ground. The bouncers ALL thought it was a real brawl, until they realized it was Zach & Izzo. Those were the days!

I had my daughter w/me in Frisco and he was walking through the lobby. Ball in hand I asked for an autograph and he was like "Na man, can't you see I'm with my wife?"

I shrugged my shoulders, looked at my daughter and was like, we don't need his autograph.

Dude, McMichael is cool. I was buying some clothes in Macys and he was there signing autographs. I went up to him and he signed them. No one else was there. So, I asked him if he'd say hi to my dad on the phone and he did. He seems to need some visine bad though. He has red eyes big time.

Dan The Man While He Was Getting Himself A Glass Of Wine For His Wife And Himself At The Shore Club Bar>>>>miami Beach>>>>>> I Asked Him For A Pic And He Was More Than Happy Too>>> What Suprised Me Was When He Told My Good Friend From Jersey...."long Time No See Buddy Here Let Me Introduce You To My Wife" I Was In Shock That A Friend Of Mine Was Good Friends With Dan And Never Told Me This

Hey, thanks alot man. I appreciate that!

I'm a CPA. My firms clients are:

HWH, and his entire family. All of his business entities, including, Miami Dolphins, LTD. and Dolphins Stadium (S. FL Stadium Corp.).

I'm working on Rybovich Boat Company, as I am typing (shhh don't tell).

We also handle John Offerdahl. We just had Randy McMichael's wife in this week. We'll be handling his foundation and his business.
=====

And when I was a little sh*t, my dad owned Mr. Laff's in Davie, FL. It happened to be the biggest night club near the Dolphins training facility, so I got to know all those guys real well from that (hence my Zach, JT, Izzo stories). Jeff Cross is a good friend from then. Terry Kirby & Aaron Craver used to be friends.

I guess I'm just real lucky. I went to University of Wisconsin, and was very tight with Jamar Fletcher, and knew Chris Chambers casually. Michael Finley cheated off of me in Econ class twice! I emailed Mark Cuban about it and he laughed in his reply - that was neat.

I once was taking a leak next to Dan Marino at the Davie Ale House (10+ years ago). I made sure to act like I had no idea who he was. Went about my business. We went to sinks together, washed our hands. I think it made him uncomfortable that I didn't act the FAN. As we were leaving the bathroom, Dan Marino says to ME - do I know you from somewhere? Not kidding. I said no, and have never been prouder. The key is to realize these are regular guys. Half of them aren't the sharpest tools in the shed - and if you have something to talk about, other than an autograph or another player, they'll be eager to learn about what you know.

The fine serviceman (posted above) talking about Pysch Warfare is a PERFECT example.

Back to Rybovich, or I'll lose my connections! Go Fins!!! :dolphins:

Don't know. Just something about him. You know how some guys are arrogant and standoffish in that 'pretty boy' way? He just rubbed me that way.

Maybe he didn't appreciate me being extra nice to Heather? He could be a good guy, hence my $.02 comment. Take what I say with a grain of salt. I'm just a huge fan of the team like all of you guys.

Although a couple kids at the kickoff banquet asked for my autograph. That was cool. Especially since they asked in plain view of Drew & Jason Rosenhaus. I thought they were about to come prospect me. Punter I suppose they thought! ha ha

great stories all around. im jealous of most of you guys. Since I live in Nj Ive never had the chance to meet a dolphin. The closest I ever came was meeting Troy Vincent after he left Miami and went to philly. He is a very nice guy too and very down to earth. I always thought he was a great player too.

I've met some of the New York Giants since a lot of them are from this area. As you would expect Shockey is a real jerk but Tiki Barber is one of the nicest people youll ever meet.
