Cowherd talks Manning, says Phins on cusp of being "elite"

maybe you fail to see the comparisons, but that's ok
sometimes a team like the seahawks get lucky and catch a team off guard and advance in the playoffs, like beating the saints in the wild card game.
and others like the jets can ride a strong defence, as far as the qb play will take you.
and with sanchez at qb ( imo ) they are not sb contenders. just because they lost competitively in the div rounds.
i find it amazing didn't this thread start of about peyton manning making the dolphins contenders ?

how does this explain Indy being a SB contender?

lol
i predict sanchez will eat another hot dog before, rexy makes another sb prediction.
how many games before rexy fist pumps sparano ?

He makes a good point though. I would certainly say that our defense is much better than New England's. Our receiving corps is comparable minus the best tight end in the league. Our running game is better as well. I see no reason why we wouldn't be SB contenders without Manning.

Even the Homer in me can't justify a statement that we are on the "cusp" of being a superbowl team. Did not these people see the games this year..
Now a "healthy Peyton" would fill a huge need, but IMO we'd need more talent around him OL, TE, WR, Dependable RB to tandem with Bush, and a GM that recognizes weakness and has the ability to sign the appropriate players.

Honestly I see Peyton as a media and fan tease in which there is a lot of talk and in the end we are unable to sign him..
Also think it would be a poor decision for Peyton, especially if true contenders (like 49ers) get in the picture.

Think the QB position will end up with a candidate not in the picture now and one who will have to be developed, behind Moore, with a more realistic possibility of Flynn, if Philbin is willing to stake his HC career on him.........

Thats the way I see it too...If the buzz is that this will probably happen this way ,then the fact will probably be it will NEVER happen. I will go as far to say he will still be a Colt when the dust settles.

Once again a thread with a title and content that has NOTHING to do with the Jets, turn into a Junch Sanchez debate, when will it end, i should have know better, no Positive related Dolphins thread would ever go 7 pages without Junch coming in and turning it into a Sanchez debate (enter Junc saying, "i didnt turn it into a Sanchez debate, your jealousy as Dolphin fans did")

regardless if all the petty nonsense, please tell me Junch what makes you "very confident I'm right about him but time will tell."

please tell me what from this disaster collapse toxic Jets season including Sanchez choking and giving the game away single handily to the Dolphins in the most important game of the season vs. a division rival with nothing to play for has you "very confident"

you were the one who said it best that Henne chocked down the tail of the season with a shot at the playoffs and was not a good QB.....well im pretty sure Sanchez did the exact same thing and had multiple teammates and ex members of the Jets calling him out

the only thing that needs to be shown is the image of Sanchez sitting on the bench with his arms layed up on the bench in the shade by himself while Miami was driving to score off of one of his turnovers instead of being on the sideline with the team trying to root the defense on for trying to make up for another one of his blunders, the guy is a USC lazy pretty boy more concerned with Kate Upton than winning football games, simple as that

first you whine after your fellow phin fans changed the topic and now you are asking me about the Jets?

why am I confident? b/c he's had 2 good years out of 3, he stunk the end 2011 but I have seen much more good than bad and one bad stretch isn't going to spiral out of control. There's too much talent, the coaching is too good, there's no way I expect to fall flat again next year.

how do you define a year, his rookie season his was 1 of if not THE worst QB in the NFL he was horrific during the regular season, had 2 good playoff games, so lets rephrase that, he had 2 good games his rookie year after his defense and running game got to the playoffs in spite of him,

09' 53.8% percentage, 10' 54.8%, 11' 56.7%, has not even sniffed 60%,

career 55 TDs 51 INT and 17 Fumbles and a career rating of 73.2, yea i would feel real confident........

sanchez is a prime example of the new york media/ hype machine.
don't forget , the jets were also a bad int away from starting mark bruenell this year. lmao
let me guess that was only a rumor right ?

He had a good year for a rookie and capped it off w/ an excellent postseason

in 2010 he had a good year for any QB and capped it off w/ an excellent postseason

This year his #s were up across the board but he wasn't anywhere near as good as 2010. I expect he'll be more like '10 than '11 in '12.

I love when people make things up, at no point was he in danger of being replaced.

i know i'm not making this up, and i also know 100% that this was reported. this year
now if you wanna ignore the facts about sanchez being garbage that's on you
but please don't accuse me of make something up.
