Dalvin Cook to the jets.

We can rationalize all we want but w the great draft they had last year, Rodgers, Cook and the nucleus they had, they are better than us on paper. Right now it’s them and Buffalo then us, then NE on paper.
Most people outside this Forum/Miami would agree with this. Adding Rodgers and Cook to the young talent and D they have is going to be an issue for us and everyone they play.

Now we are still right there too, health or lack thereof will ultimately tell the story. We are already down our biggest FA acquisition in Ramsey. If other key guys like Tua/Hill/Waddle/X/Armstead can stay reasonably healthy we’ll be right there in the mix. If not, well …

Your first paragraph is an assumption that may, or may not be true. I think we very well could see 4 backs active on game day.

Your second implies that Achane is not physically capable? Or is it implying he won't be trusted? Both?

Your third is complete speculation about a chain of events that follow an injury situation that hasn't happened yet.

If I put this all together in context, you seem to be saying there is no room on the roster for a bigger back? Is that your position?
No.

We will see four backs active on game day. One of them will be Ingold. We won’t see five backs active on game day. No team in the NFL does that.

My second paragraph is implying that Achane, like every other sub-190 pound rookie RB to enter the NFL this decade, will not average more than 8 carries per game. He is too small and too inexperienced and will be used too much in the passing game to carry more of a load than that on the ground.

My third paragraph is an inescapable conclusion if my second paragraph is true, unless you expect Jeff Wilson to operate as a bell-cow which he has never done in his entire career. There’s no chain of events. It’s the remaining players on the roster if we suffer one injury.

If you put all of this together, I am saying that our 4th RB will play no role at all unless we suffer injuries, and it is very likely he will be needed to play significant snaps this season if we do suffer injuries. So focusing on a short yardage specialist doesn’t make much sense.

Please, Mostert can’t stay healthy long enough to get many carries. He’s 31, not is same class as a cook and never has been.
Godspeed with this. I’ve been having this argument for 6 months. The majority of this forum thinks Mostert is much, much better than the national audience does.

And for whatever reason, nobody seems to care that he’s 31 with as substantial an injury history as any player in the NFL.

In short yeah lol

I wanna big big back.

The Jets odds didn't move with this signing and neither would the Dolphins.

Have you considered it may just be time to accept that there are varying opinions and stop arguing so much?

Lol..... Jus funnin....

No doubt, we have been on same page here. Not sure why everyone is so confident depending on him with just Wilson and a rookie behind him besides the bottom of the depth chart guys. Thank goodness we took Achane though and the fact early reports are positive. That was a must.

Jets are formidable, on paper. AFC East is an arms race.

The only thing I'm banking on is the Jets being the Jets and something cataclysmic happens to them to ruin their season.

They go nowhere without Aaron Rodgers, by the way. If ARod isn't ARod of old, then I can see them with less than 10 wins.

One upside to this….maybe the Jets can help knock the Bills down a peg. I’m looking for a silver lining here.

Cook playing for the Jets for 8.5 million would have probably played for his home-town Fins for 6 million. The Dolphins are in a win-now mode. After this year, we run into major cap decisions. Grier is his own worst enemy, he sticks to his picks even when they don't pan out. Our O-line is garbage! He CHOSE not to even address one position on the entire line. He then CHOSE to re-sign all the RB's, even though none of them strike fear into any opponent. He drafted Achane which may pan out but CHOSE to pass on Cook. MAJOR mistake...Cook will play his best ball against us to prove what a mistake it was.
