Deshaun Watson mega thread

We have a QB. Listen closely. WE ARE NOT GIVING UP OUR FUKING DRAFT, X AND 140M
Every team has a QB, several of them in fact, but only a handful have ELITE qbs, and most of them are still in the playoffs. Look at who has been in the Super Bowl the past 10 years, and there’s maybe 3-4 non “elite” QBs.

I’m a Tua fan and I’ll be rooting for him next year if he’s our QB, but I’m not going to crown him as being great until he earns it. Who knows what we’d have to give up for Watson at this point. I agree there’s a line we shouldn’t cross, but we should at least determine that and find out if it would work.

I don’t think anyone realizes right now what picks or players we would have to give up to get him. I think our FO would have to determine what they would be willing to give up to get him, and not go beyond that point. The money part of it is not an issue at all.
You aren’t paying attention. Let me say it again real slow. Our-front-office-isn’t-trading-for-Deshawn-Watson. They’ve said as many ways as they can but you aren’t listening. They also said Tua is the starter. Do you even have a clue what the Texans gave us for Tunsil and Stills? And you think it would be less than that? Grow up. This isn’t Alice in Wonderland.

What do you mean IF he’s our QB? Can you not read or listen? How many times has Flo and Grier abeen asked this and answered? A thousand. You just are ignoring them. If you continue with this stupidity I’m putting you on permanent ignore.

He needs to grow up? Seriously?

And just curious, what has historically worked out better, since apparently it has to be one or the other. A great QB with relatively mediocre weapons, or a relatively mediocre QB with great weapons?

no need for the continuing insults. I don’t think you are paying attention to me. If you think the Dolphins, or ANY team with uncertainty at the QB position isn’t going to consider trading for Watson and at least kick the tires in a trade, it’s you that is delusional.

and Again, I’ll say it slow, I’d be fine if Tua is the starter next year, but give me an already proven great QB over one with potential any day of the week. Its just my opinion but I’d be fine giving up multiple first round picks and/or players to have a top 5 QB for the next 10 years, you obviously would not be, regardless of history proving an elite QB is a necessity to have a prolonged great team. It’s fine if we disagree.

Meaning if he’s our QB and we don’t trade for Watson. Not sure where the disconnect is here. I’m relatively new here, can I pay extra to have you put me on permanent ignore?

He is one of those formed an opinion and then look for reasons to support their opinion.
Most others look at all circumstances, then come to a conclusion.

I for one is a huge Tua supporter. I agreed with Flo to start him mid season even thou many thought we should stay with Fitz.

But I also realized DW is a top five qb, a known commodity, while Tua is banking on potential. And for the greater good of the team, I am willing to give up Tua and some picks for a proven top flight qb.

People who has an opinion and refuse to change when circumstances change, is not conviction, it is call stubborn.

I’m a huge Tua supporter as well. ill be cheering for him like hell next year. I support every Dolphins player and was on my grandparents lap in the Orange Bowl during every home game in 1972. What amazes me is that we drafted Tua and we are hoping he becomes what Watson already is, and we are somehow worried about money that recent championship teams have already paid their franchise QBs. This notion that somehow paying a star QB market value will cripple your franchise is laughable. It‘s necessary For sustained greatness.

Paying Mahomes that much money sure crippled KC....lol

Quite honestly, if I was running JAX I’d trade #1 for Watson if HOU would do it straight up.

There’s only 4 years difference in age between Watson and Lawrence and I already know Watson is a star. He’s in the conversation for best QB playing today. Lawrence is expected to be among those guys too, but is nowhere near a certainty.

I’d happily forfeit the 4 years age difference for the known quantity. Especially when the older player is only 25 during an era and age where QB’s are routinely playing well into their late 30’s and early 40’s.

No doubt in my mind MIA should feel the same if the right trade can be negotiated.

This team is NOT one Deshaun Watson away from the Super Bowl. Period.

But they would be miles closer to it. Period.

That gigantic point some of you continue to fail to understand.

And MIA is in a much better position to not only be really good right away with Watson — they wouldn’t need to add a ton to reach the next level of SB contender. That just might be obtained via the remaining draft selections and via FA.

If you’re playing a game of chess, you always want the queen on your side of the board. The player that doesn’t have a queen is always at a greater disadvantage.

Period.

DW to SF?

I just don’t see how SF has the assets to seriously be in the discussion.

#12 is nowhere near as valuable as 1, 2, 3 or even 4.

Garoppolo will be 30 next season and hasn’t proven to be more than an average to slightly above average starter. So HOU shouldn’t have any interest in him.

Considering where SF was in 2019 and how they are expected to be good again with key players returning from an injury plagued 2020 — I can’t see their 2022, 2023, 2024 draft capital being as sought after as many other teams.

Wheras MIA has a guaranteed #3 pick in round one and guaranteed 4th pick in round 2 to offer right now; along with a young QB prospect and future picks.

WE WOULD HAVE TO TRADE ALL OF OUR PICKS DUDE, AND X AND TAKE ON THAT MONSTER CONTRACT. Please stop. Please name one time the Pats took on a 150M free agent contract and traded away their draft? Huh? Thankfully our FO isn’t listening to this stupidity
The Mike Ditka days are over with, And I guess you totally missed the “RESTRUCTURE” part. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but the possibilities aren’t out of the realm.
Look it up, players restructure all the time after being traded.
