Did I just watch a replay of a game from last season or is it me?

I was very encouraged by what I saw from our offense. Once Frerotte got in there we really started moving the ball, and did you notice that he actually threw the damned ball to Chambers? Feeley was the same ol Feeley. Deer in the headlights, and blind to the outside blitz.

Our O-Line really pulled it together after a shaky start, and did you see David Boston? Kay-Jay Harris is a load, and also looked pretty good, albeit against 3rd stringers.

For those out there worrying, just relax. It's the 1st preseason game. Each one of these games should be a learning experience for the team, and as Saban goes over film with them they should perform better, and hopefully come together as a team.

Agree about the injuries and the rookies, but honestly, what was so different about the coaching? Penalties were numerous, the FG try was questionable, and the playcalling was vanilla. We let those QB's pick us apart.

I'm no coach, and I'm sure Saban isnt throwing out all the stops by ANY means, but I didn't see what you saw.

Just a difference of opinion.
Of course the playcalling was vanilla. We crafted no gameplan for tonight and do not want to reveal our cards. That's the way the preseason works.

Our starters and significant contributors were winning when they left. That'd be different from last year.

True,But taken from the bears point of view, They had a horrible offense last year but showed signs of an offseason in the right direction. Young quarterbacks playing well, New players performing & playcalling that was far from vanilla and allowed the team to spread their wings a little bit. I would have liked to see the same from us. Once again, I am not down on the season because of this game, But really...Was it that much different from last year when it was all said and done? Right down to the game ending INT.

This is the line I loved the most....

Why, for the love of God, would Scott Linehan show ANYTHING in this game?

Would you have rathered we throw all our plays out there so the whole damn league knows what's coming when the games matter?

This psychotic overreacting to the results of a preseason game is alarming in my opinion....

Oh, so I guess we should wait until the Reg Season to throw our magical deep passing game out?

I'm not saying show EVERYTHING, but man, how about SOMETHING.

I was happy with the o-line during the first 5 mins i wasnt but after that i think they started to JELL more it seemed like they were giving decent time to Gus after that alsmot Safety play.

Ohh and PS
Brock Berlin Sux the guy has 50 seconds left
and forces the ball into Coverage holy **** man....:yell: :yell: :yell:

Why? Our coaches have never seen these guys play in a game before. This was the first one. We're going to improve as the preseason goes on. There will be lots of video reviewing going on.

Why?

Why would we show anything?

What's the point....the team puts stuff in during camp and practice...

The game...especially the FIRST PRESEASON GAME is for evaluating the bottom 1/3 of the roster...nothing more.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I hope you guys are right saying we "meant it to be this way."

God thank you. You seem to be the only sane one on these boards. It's a preseason game, not to mention the first game this team has played together. Do you expect our o'line to all of a sudden become K.C's o'line after only a short times work with Houck? Do you want Linehan and Saban to show every single play they have, so when the regular season starts, all of our suprises wont be anymore? It's funny..it's like everyone jumps off the "dolphins are going to suprise people this year" bandwagon just because some of the parts on our team didnt do good in the first PRESEASON game.

Just to be fair, most of the time Gus played...he was playing with the so-called "2nd string" o-line (who outplayed the 1st string line...but they WERE going against the 2nd string D)

Exactly. This game was for determining the first round of cuts, and it helped us do that.

Ok, well....I guess I wish I shared your optimism. Definitely respect the opinion.

I personally don't think it would be "giving anything away" to throw a few deep posts, fly patterns, etc. but hey, that's just me.

They have 4 more pre-season games to learn the offense, so I'm sure it will get more efficient before the season starts.

Like I have said for some time we are not going to win more than 7 games this season. Preseason or not we played poorly today.
i agree we will be lucky to win 6 especially when teams throw for 450 yards on us!!

Not just 4 more pre-season games, more like a month to learn it. Thats a lot of time, and I'm going to guarentee right here right now that the o'line will be SOLID this year, and will be a hell of a lot better than last year. It was the first pre-season game, give them time to gel, learn to blitz pick-ups.
