Dion Jordan Worst high pick ever?

It's a close one with Yatil ACL Green. That dude just had bad luck.

Kevin White for the Bears is on that path, too.

How about the O.G. Bosa?

Is he out for the season?
If so... we need to just cut him.
I can't imagine what the locker room thinks of him.

You have to understand the logic behind drafting Jordan. Wake was still in his prime and we needed someone on the othe side... I call this pick the Tom Brady pick because he was drafted to go after Brady.

Well that's where scouting comes in. There were several pass rushers early in that draft. We could have taken Ziggy Ansah who went two picks later and is a legit superstar. Instead we moved up. Chose first. And took a flaming garbage heap of a player. Is it true that Ireland never even met with Dion predraft? I think I heard that and it was shocking. Also Ireland was living in an absolute delusion if he thought the roster he'd constructed was only another pass rusher away from competing with the pats.

Dion Jordan has been a huge bust, but when I think of defensive end busts I got to give it to Vernon Gholston. The guy was picked 6th in the draft. Played on a Rex Ryan defense and ended his career with a grand total of 0 sacks

That was so bizarre only because he had done nothing in college. He pretty much is the definition of "workout warrior" during the combine. Aaron Maybin was another terrible one.

The NFL trash can is littered with 1st round draft picks.
Jimmy Johnson used to draft down to collect multiple picks. You can do that with a great scouting department.
The Fins lack good scouting, and good decision at GM making when trading for FA's.
They pretty much do nothing right.
Ross hired these Bozo's, so the blame ultimately falls in him.
I often think Ross doesn't care much about the Fins and their former winning tradition.
He is a Jets fan and figured he would crush the fins while making a few billion on the stadium and team.
He is going to laugh all the way to the bank.
The consolation is that the Jets are always a dumpster fire. Even Ross's intentions cannot not help them.
I think I want to find a bridge and take a 10 year nap. Someone wake me after Ross sells the team...LOL

I am beyond being through with the worthless bum. He will never do a damn thing for our team. He is just dead weight. He's the Ireland gift that keeps on giving. The biggest bust in Dolphins history. Just pathetic.

My sentiments exactly. Once again, thank you Jeff Ireland!

The incredible irony is how does Ross finally replace the guy who took Dion Jordan? Well of course with the guy responsible for taking Vernon Gholston. Truth is stranger and stupider than fiction with Ross.

You could literally fill out a lineup with all of our failed first and second round picks since around 1984. It's amazing we haven't folded as a franchise.

Without trying: DE John Bosa, NT Eddie Blake, DE/OLB Eric Kumerow, DE Dion Jordan, DE Philip Merling, two 1sts traded for Hugh Green (Lb), Jackie Shipp (traded up in the 1st) LB, Rick Graf, LB, DB Jason Allen, CB Jamar Fletcher, CB Jamar Taylor

QB Henne, QB John Beck, QB Pat White, RB Sammie Smith, Lorenzo Hampton, RB John Avery, RB Daniel Thomas, RB JJ Johnson, WR Scott Schwedes, WR Yatil Green, WR Teddy Ginn, OT Billy Milner, OT Jonathan Martin, OG Andrew Greene....

That pathetic list (I am sure I am missing some), covers only 1st and 2nd round picks. These names should have been core players and were not. Some were plagued with injuries, but the fact that they were failed picks stands.

The bad FO defect is going on 30 years at this point.
An old-timer with your memory makes me proud! I will defend Hugh Green as he was the best LB in the league after LT when we traded the rights to Anthony Carter for him. Had he not blown his knee as soon as he got here (basically) it would have been a good trade as we were so deep at WR. The guy I think you missed - and that should be swapped for Green (especially since we didn't draft him and he was an All-Pro) is none other than Eddie Moore - our first pick in one of Wannstache's drafts. The "pass rushing specialist" LB that got punched out in a bar by some dude because he was looking at his girlfriend.

I bet the Browns fans could make a similar list - they should create Madden teams like this - each franchise's total busts...
