Dont you know NFL lockerrooms are only supposed to be filled with psychopaths and sadists? The only way you build trust as a team is through threats, extortion, and fist fights. Duh.

Im getting a good chuckle at peoples mental image of an NFL lockerroom. The leagues own rules concerning workplace professionalism must chaff some like holy hell. Not to mention whistleblower protection laws. Pretty sure some are going to run into traffic when that narrative comes up.

Because regardless of whether or not this happens with 31 other NFL teams, and regardless of the fact that the NFL actually promoted this stuff in the past as a great, compelling story (Hard Knocks), this is now totally out of control and nothing's going to stop it the need for blood has been satisfied.

Hey, agree to disagree. In the end, none of it matters. Your opinion, my opinion... just opinions. RESULTS matter. And we haven't seen results in this town going on 13 years.

Ireland has been given more time to right this ship in that time span than any other GM or coach, and here we are with one of the worst PR disasters during that time span and a .500 record. That isn't progress, that's regression.

I also haven't seen anything from Philbin and the coaching staff that leads me to believe they are capable of greatness. He may very well be a decent coach, one capable of mounting a playoff season here and there. But Philbin isn't an inspiring guy, he isn't a brilliant strategist, he is just a guy. I won't lose any sleep if he goes down with the Ireland's sinking ship...

We'll see...

I dont know what to think at this point. obviously this isn't great news to see broken as the piling on will continue. But why is Omar putting out a pretty big story with a TON of missing details. Saying "coaches" and not specifically indicating who or when or what they told cogs is kinda irresponsible. He must have jumped the gun and wanted to get it out even with the vagueness before anyone else.

I guess either way nothing good can come of more of this stuff as it breaks.

why is that a huge swing??? the tight end coach told fasano last year in hard knocks to ride/get after michael egnew...coaches tell players that they have a hard time reaching or getting a message across to help them out with this stuff all the time...

again though they don't all go jon martin over it...i feel bad for philbin here...getting so hozed

Fasano's reputation and Incognito's reputation are completely different, though. Completely different. If you let a rabid dog off his leash you've got to man up if he bites somebody.

Richie's dad posting here is really interesting. You have to wonder if he was simply posting what Richie was telling him or if that was his opinion of the offensive line/ skill players. I think those were Richie's thoughts personally and if they were he doesn't think highly of any of his offensive team mates minus Mike Pouncey which is not good at all. Dad's posts slammed Martin, Jerry, Garner, Clabo, Wallace, Tannehill, the RB's and the TE. The reason I think Dad was posting Richie's thoughts is it's obvious the 2 are close and talk a lot considering idir1994 posted about Richie's suspension before the media knew about it. Vontae calls Grandma, Richie calls daddy!

Do you really think Martin really thought Incognito was going to slap his mom in the face? the extortion you speak of happens in every NFL locker room, its actually common knowledge... 15 000$ is mild compared to other known events... And if he actually believed Incognito was going to slap his mom, he must not like her to much because he didn't do squat...

Having the rookies pay for a meal on the last day of training camp is normal. To keep hitting them up for money long after that is bull****.

If a report comes up showing Incognito smacked a woman, would you be surprised? I wouldnt. Its keeping in character with what we know about him. What the entire league knows about him. What all the players know about him. Did Martin take that threat seriously? Probably not. But Incognito kept threatening, kept pushing, and kept harassing him. Why is it so shocking and upsetting that he grew concerned and/or tired of it?

Jonathan Martin has the right to earn a living without being put through the ringer by a sadist. Amazing how some just dont want to accept that. You can keep blaming the victim, but im not buying it.

Well the fact of the matter is Martin sucks anyway and is not much better than Clabo. I see the 2 as a virtual wash. Cogs to Garner is a drop off but Garner has filled in admirably in the past. Just don't ask these guys to do what they cannot do and we'll see.
