Dolphins coaches asked Incognito to toughen up Martin, sources say

We were okay without them against the Bengals...

Thats one game. We had other games this year when it seems we didnt give up as many or had good rushing totals earlier in season.
The talent level of the line has went down whether we want to believe it or not .
I mean one could say after one game that Miller is one of the best backs in league then to be followed by anothe 7 for 15 performance.
The Bengals also lost their allpro DT in that game. Clabo played ok that game but has been garbage all season.

This is unprecedented; I've never seen anything like this. One player might tear down an entire regime, I'm shocked more than anything.

I doubt the sources are coming from Martin's camp, Philbin claimed to have spoken with him and had a good conversation. Furthermore, I believe Martin said the only person within the organization with whom he had an issue was Incognito. Lastly, it isn't in Martin's interest to have this information come out, it makes his chances of getting another NFL job significantly less, because if his camp leaked this with his approval then it shows he is willing to go after coaches and what coach will want to deal with that? Now when it comes to this story specifically, in regards to who knows if Incognito was told to do this, only two parties would know if true: Incognito and the coach or coaches who gave the order to toughen up Martin. It certainly isn't in the interest of the coaches to leak this information, but it is in Incognito's interest because it lessens his role in all of this and gives him a way out. I'm not saying it was Incognito, but this new development benefits Incognito more than anyone in my opinion.

True that Richie was one of our better linemen, but I don't think his loss matters that much. The big problem has been the tackles and if Clabo can turn in a DECENT performance we're okay. Of course, that could be asking a lot...

Yep.

You'll get about the same from Clabo as Martin. Why do folks act like Martin is so much better than Clabo? I watched Suggs take turns and there wasn't much difference. Vs NE Martin graded out as our worst lineman, I'm confident Clabo can repeat that.

.

Three good games in a row with multiple O lines. Bad example my brother.

LOL, this might be the most appropriate photo I've seen on ANY thread on this site

Martin who went to Stanford a mental midget? Really? Is Andrew Luck a pea brain too?

Its becoming more obvious that Martin needs a checkup from the neck up.

I question Joe's wisdom & people skills in order to help JM.

Thornton Niven Wilder, a Yale graduate is the winner of three Pulitzer Prizes and a National Book Award.

So according to your logic, George Bush, a fellow Yale grad, is more than capable of winning a Pulitzer Prize as well? I mean they both went to the same school, and by your logic all men must literally be created equal?

I know plenty of guys that went to some of the top colleges in the country (Stanford included) who make me question the effectiveness of the educational system. While some of the smartest people I've ever met have never stepped foot onto a "prestigious" campus.

Graduating from Stanford doesn't guarantee that you're a genius.....

Though having two Harvard Law grads for parents probably doesn't hurt his case for a higher than average IQ....

Yep.

Clabo has maybe played one decent game at best all season and Cogs was pretty bad in pass pro this year.
These are two huge losses on the line regadless because the line is not talented and we just lost our second and thrid next talented linemen behind Pouncey

I'd say Bryant McKinnie is more talented than John Martin considering he strolled in after 3 ays of practice at 34 years old and is already a better LT. Also, Jerry has been more solid in the last 3 games than martin has been all season. To me Cogs is a big loss but Martin is not.

Terrible development for Philbin. Likely will cost him his job.

The question I have, how is this worse than Mike Sherman calling out Egnew in front of all his teammates and the ENTIRE PUBLIC and saying "If I were the GM, I would cut you right now because you suck!"

Isn't that abuse? Isn't that insulting?

This story is going to have coaches walking on pins and needles from now on...

God I hope it doesn't go that far. The NFL is a cut throat business. It's part of the reason I feel it is so popular. It's modern day Gladiator stuff, it's a few steps away from life and death, and in some very rare cases it actually is. Maybe a lot of ppl are uncomfortable acknowledging that part, I dunno.

I said it before and I'll say it again, if Philbin and staff knew about this asked Richie to toughin him up than ross needs to fire everyone

Please explain why.

Because the guy they asked to do the toughening up has a long standing, well-known history for being a psycho, is why.

Cog had a reputation of leaving threatening and possibly racist voicemails?

If not, I don't see the issue.

Fasano's reputation and Incognito's reputation are completely different, though. Completely different. If you let a rabid dog off his leash you've got to man up if he bites somebody.

I'm somewhat inclined to disagree but the leash does resonate a bit with me...
