Dolphins Interested in Veteran QB Matt Hasselbeck

Some of you need to get a grip on what is available to Miami. If there is a CBA and Free Agency period the pickings are very few and most of what you'll get is old. Some guys I hear mentioned in these threads are not Free Agents and teams are not just going to cut a QB because they feel they may go in another direction. This is not a good year to be after a franchise QB in the draft. Add that to having the 15th pick and no second round choice makes it that much more difficult. Not to mention the fact as of now, there will be no free agency period.

Odds are not likely that a QB falls in the Fins lap, i.e. 2008.

This is a great move if we could bring hasslebeck in for a year or two and groom a young qb behind him. Parcels has always done this and he tried with pennington and henne it just didn't work out but hasslebeck still has gas in the tank and he basically lit it up in the first round of the playoffs last year.

I'm actually really cool with this idea. Assuming all of or OL recovers from sickness/injuries, we have a much more solid line than anything he ever had in Seattle.
Your kidding right. Seattle had a pretty good line when they went to the playoffs like 4 years in a row and had a great rushing attack. Their 2003 line had Hutchinson and Walter Jones on it.

Chad Henne is a better option at this point then Matthew Hasselbeck.

Hasselbeck > Henne, but he's so old, and I'm really sick of old past their prime losers, and the young, really terrible losers. VY or bust.

That's true, I definitely misspoke and didn't realize it until you brought it up. I meant recently. With Hutchinson leaving and Walter Jones not being able to stay healthy, he's been eaten alive the last few years. This definitely explains why he hasn't been able to stay healthy.

If we are gonna sign an older veteran QB, I'd prefer Marc Bulger. TJ Housh was on Sirius NFL radio and said he was excellent in practice as Flacco's backup all year. Thinks he deserves another shot somewhere.
Add me to the list that would prefer Bulger over pretty much anyone else out there, he's still got it and at his best is very very good. Was simply injured for a while but sounds like has recovered well.

Marc Bulger sucks Hasslebeck is way better with that being said i dont want Hasslebeck hes too old and fits mainly in a west coast offense so he wouldnt do us much good.
