I guess the same could have been said about Porter and Foster.I guess Tom Brady being drafted in the late round explains why he is such a bad player.

I guess the exception to the rule is a pretty bad example.

brown was the smartest pick we could make at the pick we had if alex smith didnt go 1 that would be the only reason we didnt maybe take brown yet next yr you have 3 first rd qbs possibly even more depending on certain qbs in college maturing the three will be matt leinart, omar jacobs, and charlie whitehurst from clemson. o go along with that you have potential guys that could move up like vince young drew tate and many others so next yr is a quality yr for the qb

Even IF..IF IF IF IF..Gordon does well in TC and preseason, then GOOD! We have more quality backs then we thought. Doesnt mean Brown is a mistake!

Brady is the exception NOT the rule. When you say Foster, who are you referring to? I hope you're not referring to Deshaun "Oops I fell and broke my leg" Foster.

Sorry,

Taking Brown was not smart at all. There far more value in the 2nd round for RB considering our QB position.

You stand on the rooftops screaming that Ronnie was'nt a good pick at #2 but you would have been happy REACHING for Arron Rodgers?

There is a reason we passed on Rodgers...he's a stiff and would have been a reach at #2.

I trust Saban and our scouting department a hell of a lot more then your narrow minded "Lamar Gordon is a superstar waiting to happen/Sammy Morris is a good option".

In case you missed it...WE WERE THE WORST RUNNING TEAM IN THE NFL LAST YEAR! When you are the worst running teasm in football and running back is good value at #2 you draft a running back.

Brown = Young, versatile, great college player

Gordon = Still young, injury prone, so far a bust, final year of contract

Ricky = Do I even have to explain?

Sammy Morris = Good but not starting quality, more of a FB

Travis Minor = Good 3rd down back, proved he is not worthy of starting, probably won't make team

Kay Jay Harris = Undrafted, older, could be good, but no guarantees

Still think Ronnie was the wrong choice? The players we have behind Ronnie are good players, but I wouldn't want any of them being the feature back. These players are good for a change of pace, but Ronnie has Franchise starter written all over him. Take away Ronnie and we are basicly back in the same mess we were in last year.

In response to the original post:

Ronnie Brown is the next Marshall Faulk. You won't be sorry that you drafted him.

The guy falling to #23 spot doesn't mean anything.THis has nothing to do with Brown not being a good player or not.

it has everything to do with value. It means a lot more than you think it does.

It also has a lot to do with whether Brown is a good player or not.

H2 was the best pick available.
Roth was the next best pick for us

this was the best draft we've had in years, i just think we should have drafted a QB 4th rd.

Anybody who knows Minus knows that this post is more a swipe at Feeley than at Brown. He was one of the biggest Fiedler homers this board has ever seen.

It's a new coach and a new system Minus. Give Feeley at least a 1/4 the time you gave your buddy.

Gordon isn't anything more than an average back... C'mon.

Why then did the Rams' draft Stephen Jackson?

Minus, You wanted to go into battle this year with Rodgers at QB and Lamar Gordon?? Rickey coming back was something nobody could have predicted. You keep saying we should have drafted a RB in the second round but we didn't have a 2. We HAD to replace Rickey and we did and even with him coming back I'll take the insurance against another change of his mind. I just think you love Aaron Rodgers and you're crying because Saban didn't pick your boy. Get over it and root for the team and most of all stop whining dude. I was at practice all weekend and Frerotte looked very poised and his arm was excellent. If AJ doesn't pump up the volume Gus is starting. It will be OK.
