Not sure if you are talking trade or when he was drafted, but if it was trade then Champ Bailey also went with that 2nd Rder.Dol-Fan Dupree said:Left off Clinton Portis who went for something higher than a 2nd round pick.

LOL. Ok lets keep the lesser back in Gordan AND waste a roster spot on Martin who is stricky a LEAD BLOCKER, and a BACKUP lead blocker at that!GreenMonster said:I would be happy to go into this season with these backs
RB - Brown, Ricky, Gordon, Minor
FB - Evans, Martin
Excellent post. I wish they could comprehend that.arsenal said:most 7th rounders dont even make NFL teams, morris provides us with a lot of flexibility with an extra roster spot, thats very valuable in a league where only a 53 man roster is allowed... not to meniton hes a capable runner, and a capable fullback, while also playing special teams... especially in our offense where a FB isn't really needed often, having to keep 2 on the roster would suck, but if we dont have morris who can play fullback we'd have to...

Half our team is on a 1 year deal after this yrs free agency.Dphins4me said:He is gone after this year. Why not get what you can get for him?
Do you think he will even see the ball this year with Brown & RW in front of him?
If you can get a 5th for him, then jump on it, because come draft day 2006 the pick might prove more valuable than Morris being on the team in 2005.
Ok tell that to Saban who had Morris as our starter till Ricky got acclimated.GreenMonster said:If you want to keep him to play FB fine, but he isn't even as good a RB as Minor.

ckparrothead said:If they offered us a 6th rounder for Morris I'd take it. If someone else offered a 6th for Gordon I'd take it too. Last year Morris proved that he couldn't get the job done as a real genuine backup runningback. He has durability and speed issues, plus he's still very raw as a runningback. I would collect the picks for Gordon and Morris, and go to battle with Ronnie, Ricky, Travis Minor, and Kay-Jay Harris. Of course, in the immediate future getting rid of Morris AND Gordon would mean we may need to find one more RB off the waiver wire for the first four games of the season.
Dolphins are happy with Travis Minor as a runner and as a backup kick returner, and Kay-Jay makes plays on special teams and has the power to help out in the red zone. I would dish them both out.
The following is a list of guys who could have been had in the 6th round of the 2005 NFL Draft...
DT Antajj Hawthorne, DT Anthony Bryant, RB Cedric Houston, DE Bill Swancutt, OG Chris Kemoeatu, QB Derek Anderson, OT Rob Pettiti, DE Jovan Haye, and OG Wes Sims.
We got both Yeremiah Bell and Rex Hadnot in the sixth round and both are about to be starters (unless Schulters does some massive improving).
It remains to be seen what we could get IF he is even on the trading block.GreenMonster said:I won't trade Morris for a 7th but a 5th is a different story. But I can't see any team offering a 5th for 1 year of Sammie freaking Morris. So most likely he stays with the Phins for this year which is fine with me.
