I have done things both in my personal and business life that set me back considerably in the short term, but were necessary for long term success, growth, and happiness. In all cases, it was worth it.
Watching the Dolphins suck horribly and then looking on the bright side is pretty easy in comparison to some of the hard decisions I have made.
well said.
A few years ago I was struggling, didn't have anything and lost a lot (you can blame the nutcase woman I was with). All I had left was my vehicle which was worth a paltry $10k at the time. However, I was very good at what I did before that investing a few K here and there and reselling for 10 to 40 X more.
Well , I sold the vehicle to get some bucks, didn't drive for over 6 months. And that really hurt because I really love to drive and it's the first time I didn't have a vehicle in 15 yrs. I hated working the job I had , and taking public transit to and fro made me hate life even more. But to make a long story short, I used that $10k off the car, and saved another $10k in 6 months.. I invested the $20k smartly, and brought back over $250k within a year off that initial $20k investment
This little sports thing PALES in comparison to that year of my life several years ago. This is nothing. NOTHING ! In fact, I am enjoying the losses this year and celebrating them more than ANY win over the past decade. This suck for luck thing is the best thing that's happened to me as a Dolphin fan, and for the Dolphins organization in YEARS.. YEARS ! That Denver game last week was the most joy I've experienced as a dolphin fan in Years. YEARS !
