Any team can do it anytime they want. NONE of these contracts are guaranteed. Why shouldn’t a player expect a raise under those circumstances when they outplay their deal?

But ok... how much should these players be expected to get, and would it be okay if other players had to be cut in order to come up with the money?

How long would you like to keep rebuilding? Because if we keep jettisoning superior talent, we WILL remain mired in mediocrity. If we have to drop a mid-level starter to keep him, then we do it. The difference between an easily replaced guy and his backup IS NOT worth losing our elite cornerback.
He’s not asking for an extra 10mil/year for ****’s sake.

Its required reading when he wants #1 money at his position. Best CBs usually don't get thrown against. All I know is that Howard has great hands. What does that say? Ramsey takes the day off usually on game day. Im just flipping it and asking.

They are not obligated to make him the highest paid DB(AGAIN like they did previously).

especially if you are adept at picking off passes.

you know his agent isn't waltzing in there asking for $30 million a year.
it isn't as simple as "x asks for more, so give it to him."
