ask yourself this question: Would Cadillac be doing just as good behind our line?

the answer is that he wouldn't, infact he might be doing worse. he isn't the blocker Brown is in the passing game and the o-line wouldn't open any holes if we couldn't pass the ball at all and in case you didn't realize this, Brown is one of the reasons for Frerotte's success he's been giving Frerotte more time to pass by picking up blizters.

Wow, a voice of reason on this message board. It is hard to believe the fair weather nature of some fans here.

Corey Dillion this year is a total bust. Last year 1637 yards with a 4.7 avg. This year they keep the guy and he has 37 carries for 99 yards, a 2.7 avg. I can't believe they didn't know this guy was going to be a major bust this year. Pats fans must be pissed they didn't get a RB in the draft so they can bench Dillion.

Quit the Cadillac Comparison

Cadillac is in the perfect offense for his talents. Cadillac would be no better in a Phins uniform than Brown is. Give Brown and this offensive line time to grow.

You don't spend a #2 overall pick to be a blitz pick up guy. That may be the tie breaker, if he runs as well as Cadillac (which he has not).
No you dont, but when it is part of being a total package you do. You don't see Cadillac doing anything else but run and they take him out when it would be required for him to do it.

Tomlinson 2 games 38 carries 124 yards. With a 3.3 avg I can't help figure this guy has seen his best days in the NFL.

How much time do you think he will need because Sammy seems pretty good behind our O-LINE. Its sad but true.

Willis McGahee 13 carries for 34 and no TDs

Kevin Jones 8 carries for 22 yards and no TDs

These guys are also busts and should be cut immediately.

Anything else but run? What the hell are you talking about?

Its simple.

Be a great back first and a blocker second any given Sunday.

Add to my list, there should be some decent backs on the market. Kevin Jones is a major bust. The Vikings are seeking a conditional 7th rounder for Culpepper after the last 2 weeks.

these threads are getting pretty ridiculous.

all the people bashing brown say everyone is picking on their opinions. that isnt true. You are getting picked on for forming an opinion after 2 games. Those 2 games werent even that bad!! In any sport it takes a rookie a while to get used to things.

Let me give you an example of what you are doing here. Take for example meeting a girl. Before meeting this girl you made a list of girls you would someday want to marry. The girl you meet is #2 on your list (#1 was snatched up by some other guy before you had the chance to get her).
So now you have the girl youve always dreamed you would end up with. She's hot, her scouting report says she cooks and cleans and is fantastic in bed. You go on 2 dates with her on a limited budget (poor blocking). Things go OK but you arent blown away just yet. Are you going to ditch her or give her more time?

Not to mention your ex-gf who left you last year to go get to know herself is coming back to you in 4 weeks. Your new gf has agreed to let you take on the ex too, and even work with her. (man wouldnt that be great!)

What is it with everyone babying this guy with his protecting Gus crap. Big deal.

I dont see anyone praising Tomlinson or Priest for blocking, do you?

Hey man, your post seems to indicate you have no idea how important it is to pass protect as a running back.

Tomlinson and Holmes are praised a lot for their superb blitz pickup abilities too. Most premier RBs are able to handle blitz pickup responsibilities...I love seeing little Warrick Dunn handle LBs almost 2x his size.

What the hell are you talking about? Do you know anything about Football? So far during the Bucs games and Carnell does nothing but run the ball. He does no blocking, has not caught a single pass out of the backfield and is not is on long passing plays. Ronnie
does what is asked of him. You just want to write him off because of two average games in his WHOLE NFL career? Pathetic.

It is important to pass block. Buts its more important to show how well you can run. Especially if you were drafted number 2.

Here's the problem...

He sat out because the Dolphins lowballed him. You remember all the reports about the Dolphins not offering to pay him like the #2? As it is, the contract he signed ended up paying less then the #3 this season, and was low.
