Forget Ronnie Brown!!

well I think it will all work out , the problem isnt ronnie its the fool he has for a agent. but if it makes anyone feel any better mark clayton wr form oklahoma is holding out with the ravens and big brian billick is pissed off. so its not only miami with this problem it leauge wide.

man ist it just me or does it seem like my head is spining . oh how i am hung over today . can you all post quitely , i keep heare that famous saying of wanny "from the standpoint of qb jay gives us the best chance to win "
:helmet: :surf: :surf:

I remeber Ryan Leaf another #2 who hadn't proved himself either. I'll bet the Chargers wish they had that one back. I believe in a rookie cap. Then if they do well then give them all the money in their second year. This would protect teams and reward real performance.

Im gonna get bashed for this. But listen, my personal opinion is that NOBODY deserves to make millions playing football for 5-6 months. But thats just me, so we drafted a runningback at #2. Look what happened with Phillip Rivers, he is being paid all this money and isnt even playing!! Why on Earth should we pay 23 million dollars to some runningback who hasnt even SHOWED he can play well in the NFL yet, especially when we have Ricky Williams who is looking real good, Lamar Gordon, Sammy Morris, Heath Evans, Travis Minor. If Ronnie Brown wants to be ****y over 3 million dollars, then i say show him the door and save that 23 million dollars for someone else we may need.....like a deal to get a CB, C, QB. Right now runningback is not a need, we have 4 decent runners. Like i said, if Ronnie Brown wants to hold out cuz he thinks he deserves 23 million even tho he hasnt PLAYED yet, then show him the door! Yes i think Ronnie is good, but no rookie 24 year old who hasnt played yet, deserves soooooo much money. Im sick of these players holding out cuz they think they deserve so much, DOCTORS dont even make that much. If i was Miami, i would not go any farther than what they are offering...who cares if Ronnie Brown holds out...let him go to Tampa Bay and play with Cadillac again, or someone who is dumb enough to pay him so much. Anybody agree with me??? (or am i gonna be bashed:confused: )
You draft-you pay. Very simple

Son, I'm twice your age, I was joking, you know making fun of the other guys.

By the way, I have shoes older than you.

Skippy.
Almost as impressive as your trade idea. :shakeno: I'm not trying to be a smartass but that idea was ludacris.

I see your point, but it's all about supply and demand my friend. I'm certain there are players in the NFL who could succeed doing many of our jobs, but none of us could be playing in the NFL. It's hurts, but it's the tough truth.

yeah well before you get bashed I figured I would share this. Did anybody else know that we arn't the only team to draft Ronnie Brown? He was drafted by the Seattle Mariners also. Just little interesting brown fact.

I know somebody is going to ask for it so here ya go!

http://www.footballsfuture.com/2005/prospects/ronnie_brown.html
I'm sure the Mariners arn't going to pay anything near 23 million.................

Jeez guys, it's not his 'idiot agent's' fault... the guy is doing his job. After all he's got to feed his kids, right?

It's the system that's broken. Unfortunately this is a big dollar business and the best players will get paid. I personally don't think any team should invest so much money in a single player, but i don't make those decisions (thank god). Ronnie has the potential to be our startin back for quite a while and I would like to have that kind of security. It's the way the business works, i say pay him and get his butt into camp.

alot of people act like this is all ronnie browns fault, its not. Todd France will not let Ronnie Brown sign for $19-20M guarneteed. Todd France has few clients as it is, and it would look terrible on him if braylon got signed to an equal, or greater contract than ronnie.

Who the hell is going to give up a 1st/2nd next year AND have to pay Ronnie what he's asking for right now?
If the Fins didn't expect to pay Ronnie about 20mil up front then they should have traded down in the draft, even if it meant maybe not getting everthing they wanted.

Actually, about half the teams in the league. If you use the draft value guide, anyone who picks lower than about 10 would have to trade a #1 and #2 to move up to a #2 overall in the first. Then if you add in the one year difference, I imagine you would find more takers than you would first think.

its the way the system is, its not ronnies fault, its not his agents fault, its the way the system is... hes asking for what hes supposed to get... why should alex smith get 25 million guarantees and ronnie only get 18? if you guys wanna ***** about someone, ***** about alex smith...

technically it is his agent's fault....France is a rookie just like ronnie and is trying to feel his way into being an agent...thats pathetic....God If Drew was Ronnies agent...at least he would have been on the field.....

NOW with that said....its not Ronnie fault either that the 49ers payed so much for a kid WHO ISNT WORTH THAT KIND OF MONEY... Ronnie just wants to get his just desert too...and he should realize that the 49ers got Duped into paying Alex Smith that kind of money and he shouldnt be begging miami for what FIRST OVERALL PICKS got the last couple of years....

The cap hit for that would be astronomical!!!

what cap hit...dude hasnt signed, how can they take out what they dont know him to get yet???

I probably should start another thread for this question, but I will put it on here since it is sorta related. I was almost certain that you could only sign a rookie to a 5 year max contract. Yet Alex is a 6 year deal. How did they get around that?? Also if ya stop and think about it for a bit you will see that the 24 mil over 6 yrs that Alex got would equal 20 mil over 5 years. (both avg out to be 4 mil per). So when ya look at it that way a 20 mil deal for Brown would be like the 2nd overall pick (a RB no less) making the same guarateed per year as the #1 overall (a QB). Suddenly the 19 we offered Ronnie seems more than fair.
I may be way off on that line of thinking, but it makes sense to me. Either way there is no way I would pay a unproven RB over 20 mil guarateed, just no way. I am with the poster, let da man set. It's not like he is the last missing piece of SB team.

"what cap hit...dude hasnt signed, how can they take out what they dont know him to get yet???" ....

We can't cut him either unless he is signed first....
