Heads Up :: Dolphins v. Falcons Replay TODAY

So on any other team Sanchez would struggle...

But Freeman on any other team, including the Jets...and you'd respect him lol?

See what just happened there?

Talk about short-sighted.

Damn.

Do YOU see what happened there??? I really don't think so. Please re-read my post.

Yeah, you said Sanchez might struggle. And that might be true. It's irrelevant either way because you wouldn't hate him if he played for Tampa.

No one here hates any other QB in the league today unless they're one of our division rivals.

No one hates Kevin Kolb here. No one hates Joe Flacco.

But if you take Kevin Kolb, Joe Flacco, Josh Freeman or anyone else and trade him to the Jets...he immeidately becomes a bum here at FinHeaven somehow.

Had Sanchez been drafted by Seattle and was mentioned here, people would have a different opinion of him.

That's the main point I'm trying to make here.

I get your point, but iMO using Sanchez doesn't reinforce it. Being that he's actually an overhyped, underperformer on the jest, we all tend to hate him more than if he ended up Cleveland. However, bracket that against Ryan Fitz who there's some grudging respect for as he's endured to reengineer himself into a competent QB using smarts and overcoming natural inabilities. He's another one who's better than his team, but does have a limited upside. I've said before and will continue to stand by it that if Sanchez and Fitz switched spots, the jest could well have made (but not won) the big dance and Buffalo would have been lucky to have won 4 games. Long way of saying that hating Sanchez is easy and justifiable, but there's grudging respect for someone like Fitz as there would have been for Freeman - or maybe even fear, had he been jetbound.
(am I being vacuumed into a troll job here or can you not tell the difference between Freeman/Sanchez or even Fitz/Sanchez?)

I hate Joe Flacco. I have for a while.

Mark Sanchez is slimy and irritating in that he is not that good but somehow he has an x-factor where he pulls wins out of his butt. Unlike many of the other QB's you mentioned, mark Sanchez has been the practical talk of the NFL before he took a snap. The other guys are well known, but definitely not hyped like Sanchez is.

There's nothing to hate about Fitzpatrick. He's a smart, Ivy League kid who just so happens to have a rare combination of athletic ability as well.

Sanchez, regardless or how good or bad he is, has that flamboyant look and feel to him. He was highly touted coming out of college. South California kid. Alpha-male. Dates gorgeous women. Sanchez has a lot to be envious of. It's "easy" to hate Mark Sanchez. He's similar to Tom Brady off of the football field. And we hate Brady, but it would be asinine to deny his ability on the football field.

What bothers us the most is that the Jets are damn good and we admit that by saying that the teams props up Sanchez. And at the same time, we realize that Mark Sanchez isn't great, but he's decent so far...and he's getting better. That's the problem. He's making progress while we watch Chad Henne spin his tires in the mud and it ****ING SUCKS.

No if he actually put up the same numbers and performed the same way in Seattle, I'd still say he sucks. Being on a rival has nothing to do with why I think he's a terrible QB. He's erratic, easily rattled, very inaccurate, struggles to read coverages, makes way too many wtf plays, etc...

Oh and I hate Brett Favre all the way back to his Green Bay days. I didn't particularly care for the fact that he held his team hostage every year towards the end of his career like he was bigger than the game. With all that said, he was an amazing QB, one of the best of all time.

Media creates hype to boost ratings. If you buy into it, that's a YOU problem. You can sell Mark Sanchez. You can sell Brady Quinn. You can sell Cam Newton. You can't really sell Josh Freeman or Joe Flacco even though they're both better QB's that the former mentioned.

This is Matt Moore's most impressive drive . . . really stepped up nice into the pocket, making precise throws. The entire offense played better on this drive. Both throws to Gates were very nice.

Brett Favre never held his team hostage. That was the most retarded story. Packers could have moved on and didn't. They waited.

Brett Favre took his country *** to Mississippi during the offseason and sat his *** on his tractor and plowed 400 acres of farm land for no good reason. Reporters and everyone else came looking for him every single day. Give that old dude a break. If all of these practices and preseason games are truly meaningless other than rookies finding their place with the team, why the hell does Brett Favre need to show up.

the whole debate on Sanchez/Freeman is pointless. A lot of people felt Freeman was more talented than Sanchez coming out of the draft, but he wasn't polished enough to contribute right away, and was raw. Almost every expert is shocked about how good he has been this quickly.

For Sanchez, I feel he'd be better in the WCO.

The whole Henne/Sanchez debate is interesting as their stats are very very similar, and in some instances (like yards, ratings, and completion percentage) Henne actually has BETTER numbers than Sanchez. Henne also only threw 2 less TDs last season than Marky Mark.

That being said it is true stats do not tell the entire story. But here is a very real situation. At various points last year Rex and Schotty Jr. saw Sanchez as a liability just as Sparano and Henning saw Henne has a liability. The difference is how the 2 staffs faced the situation. Rex realized that if he wanted to have any shot in the playoffs, he couldn't worry about Sanchez making mistakes. Now there were games last year the Jets probably should have lost, and Sanchez looked absolutely terrible (the Cleveland Browns game), but the Jets D would hold pat, and Sanchez would make that one throw his team needed.

I don't need to explain how our staff treated Henne.

Oh and don't tell me Henne is conservative by nature. I watched him play at Michigan for 4 years, I saw him play in high school. I've seen Henne's entire career, he is NOT a conservative guy.

But both guys can't complain about options. The Jets went and got Sanchez Braylon, Holmes, Plax, Keller, and LT. All guys who proved to be valuable in the passing game. We have given Henne Marshall, Bush, Gates, Bess, Hartline, and Clay. We have given Henne weapons he just needs to do something with them, and our coaches need to trust him.

But let's not rely totally on stats, they don't tell the whole story, but they do tell part of it.

Ya that was another dart! I hope he and Henne both push each other and let the best man win!

Why can't you sell Josh Freeman? He's smart, articulate, goal-direct with "a plan" since childhood, good looking and in today's society, being bi-racial can't hurt. That kid's got everything going for him. Of all the QBs that've come out in the last few years, of course, you know my greatest regret is Rodgers, but next would be Freeman- I sure wish we had him.

That is my hope. I think Henne is the better option but by no means does that mean I am rooting for Moore to fail. I love his mobility, and he showed some toughness and some accuracy that really has me interested in seeing him again. Once people drop their agendas and open their eyes, they shoudl realize both QB's, despite having negative moments, had their fair share of positve ones and with a new system in place, take those positives and build on them going forward.

I do vaguely remember people saying Freeman would be a better pro QB than college QB. But he did have the making of something special. As a true freshmen he carried K State to victory over a pretty good Texas team. He struggled his junior year after Jordy Nelson graduated and the K State boosters were doing shady things to get Ron Prince fired and Bill Snyder back
