hoops scoops...fins bills

what's the word on knowshon??? that kids got the best vision of any of our backs...i bet it's every bit of 8 weeks though

we talk about anticipation and lack there of but then the kid goes out and puts up a like 18 to 1 td to int ratio in the red zone last year...which is all about anticipation and seeing things quickly...as the field condenses decisions must get faster ball must come out sooner etc...i can't believe that would be all about the offense and not the qb to have that kind of td efficiency #

i just can't...it has to be a lot about the qb also

It seems like this year our red zone offense is sucking, last year it was money. This year we have nothing.

What did you think of the QB's decision-making?

We obviously saw that he was throwing behind guys or missing throws. I believe that gets better as his timing with the offense improves through experience, but it is what it is right now.

What I'm wondering is if you think Tannehill has taken any steps forward from a mental standpoint? I kind of feel like he has -- it looks like he is more consistently finding the right read, just not delivering the football.

Correctable, you think, or are you worried?
I agree w this for what it's worth. He seems to be finding the right guy - just can't hit him properly.

Well again, he's been exposed to it since his college days.

Maybe. Maybe that's what he's supposed to be doing but he has a bad habit of throwing to the player. I know it was mentioned several times in preseason so either its something Lazor changed or its something he's trying to fix.

Mmmmm .... sort of. In the redzone you have to be able to rifle a ball, which is a strength of his. When you have more field to work, that demands more anticipation in where receivers are going to be.

I personally think accuracy is something you either have or don't. And I don't think he has it.

Well that's what I've seen him do since day one. How do you change that? His athleticism and strong arm covered up his accuracy issues in college and during spurts in the pro's, but eventually teams catch on to what you can't do.

you have to process information faster in the red zone and you have to anticipate also...it's much more than just a good arm...plenty of qbs fail when they get in the red zone...or get pulled from center for trick plays or other options...

Accuracy issues aside, I do know this ..... he gets worse the longer he holds the ball.

Yeah I saw Trusnik trailing way too many run plays yesterday. On several of them, especially the TD drive after we scored, he wasn't even close to Jackson. He didn't have a prayer with Spiller either.

I agree on the coaching call to end the first half. That 2nd half is PRECISELY why you try to score at the end of the first half, you have to give yourself as many scoring opportunities as you possibly can. I know some don't agree with that but if you're a coach on the hot seat like Philbin is, you should go out guns blazin'. Decide your own fate with the owner. But that's Philbin for you. He's vanilla milk-toast.

Of everything that happened yesterday that pissed me off, THAT was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. To sit on all three of your time-outs with over 2:00 left in the half when we desperately need some momentum and we have the ball to start the second half... Unacceptable, loser garbage. That's what ****ing ***** coaches do. That's what fairies who play not to lose do. I lost my **** when it happened and I'm getting pissed off just typing this post, so I'll end this rant by saying that I hope Ross ****ing punched Joe Philbin in his bald ****ing head as soon as he entered the locker room yesterday.

Merril Hoge had an excellent segment Saturday night, pointing out how well prepared the Dolphins were for New England's offensive tendencies. On key plays it was like we knew what was coming. I posted last week that for some reason we are out scheming New England lately. That lends itself to a misplaced impression of the Dolphins as a whole. Bottom line, in our past 5 games we are 2-0 against the Patriots while losing by double digits in the other games, twice to Buffalo and once to the Jets.

Buffalo is out coaching our staff similar to our edge against New England.

Next week is a wild card because it's our first venture out of the division since the Steelers game early last December.

Buffalo indeed helped out Henderson early in the game. The tight end was nudging Wake. Once Henderson wasn't having much trouble, Buffalo was content to leave him alone. Shelby has more sideways wiggle than Wake and often fared better against Henderson than Wake did. In the Senior Bowl Henderson didn't have any trouble with one dimensional outside rushers, no matter how good they were. He had fits with guys who could double move and vary things, like Kyle Van Noy who got a quick inside sack on his first snap against Henderson.

I'm reluctantly impressed with Jelani Jenkins. I don't like him long term at that size. He always had a tendency to disappear at Florida when too much was expected of him, and same late last season when he received some early positive reviews. He looks good based on comparison to our other linebackers.

There will be regression to the mean among our offensive tackles. That's why it's so vital to shore up the interior, and choose plays that lend to our strengths. The Chiefs will know how to attack Albert's side.

read option stop was just a great play by the safety...hartline tries to get in there but for some reason he doesnt just go right to the safety he takes a bad angle...but i'm not sure he would have gotten there anyways...at any rate he was late i know that

when has hartline ever blocked a safety anyways lol

Hartline was engaged in another block during that play attempted "to late" to come back to block that safty.
