hoops scoops...fins patriots

tannys jaw popped out??? did not know that...yeah they were playing dirty...the illegal picks are a staple of their offense...that's fair they were definitely doing some dirty stuff...they were also dropping their entire body weight on the qb...both the lb blitz hit and the jones ones...at least the ref got those calls right

He said after the game that he thought his jaw was dislocated after one of the hits, yeah.

frustrated with their inability to get to him...i just saw finny doing some dumb stuff with amendola especially

Tannehill was asked in his press conference after the game about the hit and he said it felt like his jaw popped out for a second and popped back in but he kept on playing. Kid is tough...doesn't get enough credit for that part of his game. Brady would have been telling the ref to toss the player out of the game.

I was watching a show on the new rules of emphasis and the refs specifically spoke about the pick plays. You can only engage a player if he's a yard (1 yard) from the LOS on a pick play. If he's 2 or more yards from the LOS the receiver that's blocking has to wait until the receiver catching the ball has the ball in his hands before engaging the defender. That's the new rule...it used to be 2 yards but they never really enforced it.

so him being 5 yards was blatant...i doubt they will enforce that new 1 yard rule much...they rarely enforced the 2 yard one prior...if wilsons helmet doesnt come off and he lay prone i doubt they enforce that one even

Is it possible Tannehill struggled due to nerves? Once he settled down in the 2nd half his throws seemed very accurate.

Excitement is more like it, but no excuses for him...

I expect a better game next week and going forward...this offensive design is too good for him not to succeed.

people will probably bang tannehill for missing wallace on the double move in the corner of the end zone but trent green called it right wilfork was closing enough where he couldnt set his feet and deliver on it and it was slightly too far outside...had he been able to set his feet and thrown it that far outside yeah i'd have marked that one as a bad play by the qb

this team needs to trust the protection if it keeps up at the level it did yesterday and work more vertical routes and longer developing ones...double moves etc...but they'll want to get some good solid protection tape before they go to too much of it i'd say...

this week though against the bills i would not be working much longer developing stuff other than off pa and max protect type

What I want to see from the kid is more anticipation on his throws. He already knows that with this offense he's going to a spot most of the time, but during large stretches of the game he waited until the receiver was already too deep into his route.

He has the arm to throw lasers, which sometimes can make up for being late on getting the ball out. But I think he's becoming too reliant on it. I'm not saying he needs to go full-on gun-slinger mode, but let the sucker fly sometimes. Have faith in the offense and his WR's.

i dont see many issues with the timing of his throws...i think the ball comes out timely...i'd just like to see some better execution mainly placement wise

On his deeper stuff is predominantly what I'm talking about. His ball placement (particularly in the 1st half) was so erratic in the short-intermediate area of the field. Guys were having to contort to reach back to grab the football. That's how receivers can get lit up. To his credit, the 2nd half he was a bit better.

i'm looking at that wallace play right now he definitely didnt leave himself much space down the sideline but his path is tracking the ball in the air...if it's placed inside he adjust inside with his feet and it's an easy td...i mean if he had gone up and high pointed the ball then its a td but that's not his game...he wants to run under the ball and cradle it in his chest...

i think it's a little hard on wallace personally given what his game is and will always be...he tried to toe tap that other foot but his momentum was carrying him out of bounds

i saw other examples that got my goat a lot more

I posted a screen shot in another thread. That ball is easily catchable in bounds. I am really sick of Wallace not stepping up.

Doesn't seem like anyone else on this team at WR has a problem. Did Clay not have a break out year last year? I guess it wasn't Tannehill throwing him the ball. Does Hartline not have back-to-back 1000 yard seasons? Yeah Tannehill wasn't the QB for him either. Was Gibson not on his way to being our best slot receiver and best YAC receiver on the team last year before he got injured? Oops...Tannehill must have been sitting at home watching the game when Gibson was catching passes.

If you don't understand the point I'm making then say so.

I'm talking about setting up Wallace to succeed on individual in completions, that Tannehill under throws his wr. It happens a lot when he throws to Wallace. So much so, there is a highlight reel on YouTube.
