I must have missed it when all the geniuses here were clamoring for Nick Foles last off-season.
Foles wasn't considered a great backup for Philly before he was signed. I think Gase is betting his coaching career on Tanny. You have to admire his resolve on who he thinks his QB should be.
I'm not sure about that DE76. Brock got the job for Denver and played well, he started for the Texans and sucked. Maybe Brock will be a good "Called on" QB. Not a good starter, but one who can come in and finish a game. I certainly fell for the "Cutler played with Gase so he has to be good" crap. But this is another player, he's not Cutler. We just need to see what the kid can do in his present role.If Tannehill goes down we'll see another Jay Cutler type season at the QB position. These guys apparently didn't learn their lesson from last season.
FYI, no one in the NFL this year seems interested in Moore, even as a backup.Personally I think after the hit in Pittsburgh, Matt Moore lost all desire to play. He wanted to hold the clip board and collect the pay check.
This whole discussion makes me wonder if the Texans and Eagles message boards are being as pessimistic about their QB's with similar (or worse) knee injuries.
I admire Pederson: a great coach but also wanted to hedge his bets and take a chance at finding an elite QB. Complete opposite of Gase in almost every way.
I agree, besides the poster lost me with the lapdogs. Real men don't own lapdogs!I have to disagree. None of these second tier QBs are better than what we have on the roster, so why waste a draft pick?. I also dont like any of our backups but that's what we have. Let's see what the final roster looks like before we jump to conclusions. If a major starter goes down u are usually screwed anyway. There are exceptions ofcourse, but it's very rare to have starters backing up starters.
