In the past few weeks, the forum has been filled with many longtime posters saying things like: this team sucks, fire everyone, MM is the worst coach in NFL history, Tua is a bum, and (my personal favourite) I hope the Dolphins miss the playoffs.
No one cares if you want to be critical. We're all ****ing pissed that we're in this situation and we no longer control our own destiny. But there's a difference between being rightly upset, rightly critical, and just being a miserable person who is always upset no matter what and always hyperbolic. The same posters who disappear when things are good and turn back up when things are bad to say: I told you so. It does nothing but degrade the quality of the forum and make it a really unpleasant place to be.
It got so bad the mods tried to set up a single thread to post positive things in and these same posters turned up to bitch and complain.
I don't understand what that's so difficult to understand about this. No one is saying don't be critical. What people are saying is: have a sense of proportion. I'm a self-admitted aqua coloured glasses guy. I embrace it. But on the opposite side of the coin from people like me, are posters who do nothing but **** all over this team every chance they get.
And I’d be willing to bet the contents of my bank account that even if we make the playoffs, these same people will try and to rain on the parade of the fans who wanna celebrate, by immediately saying: who cares, doesn’t matter, we’re just gonna get trounced in round one. Honestly, part of me feels sad for them. It can't be much fun being like that.
