Hope he is as tough as he appears to be, not a great tactician. Usually wins with brute strength rather than speed and precision.

Definite playmaker but let’s not act like is he is flawless. A lot of bad tendencies can be coached out and if put into a proper position to succeed any player can thrive. But his size and style may not match. Hard to play like TO and CJ when you are 6’ 200.
Yeah...we may have to accept DeAndre Hopkins. Would be horrible.

I'm not nitpicking Chase. He'll be a great WR.
It would be like nitpicking Ms America..."I just wish she dusted the ceiling fans"...its lunacy.

Anyone with questions about Chase, see NFL CBs AJ Terrell and Tevon Diggs. They were 1st and 2nd rd picks LAST year. He abused both of them while still only 19 years old.

Not convinced? Go watch Justin Jefferson rookie tape. Chase was better than JJ in college.

I'm trusting to FO to build a championship roster...but whichever team gets JaMarr Chase is getting an absolute stud...great player, great kid.

Great post. It's flawed thinking if people believe that Chase can't be a bust. He scares me more than all the other wide receiver prospects Miami can take with their first pick because of what you stated and the fear he isn't the best fit with this team and Tua's skillset.

I'm really starting to think Chase is gonna be the guy.

Bengals would have to be brain dead not to take Sewell with how bad their OL is, and with Devonta's size concern, I'm definitely leaning Ja'Marr's way.

I think so too, because he is the consensus #1 receiver, but I have to admit it scares me. My preference would be Pitts and then Waddle, but I think Pitts may be gone and I don’t think Grier would have the guts to pass on Chase.

Has anyone noticed how slow J.Chase gets when he enters his stutter step move? Looks like any speedy or physical corner could easily cover him. Would seem like his only answer to DB's is to out physical them, worries me a little as our option at #6. I really hope we have a shot at Pitts, otherwise Smith and Waddle for this offense makes more sense to me. Am I wrong on this?????

Decent comp, though I think Hopkins was more refined and skilled as far as route tree and having multiple options to win with. Not to mention maybe the best hands in the last 7-8 years, not that Chase’s hands are bad by any means but Hopkins is in a different class then most other NFL guys

I really like Pitts, Smith, Waddle, Chase and Parsons for our 1st pick. I’m a Dolphins advocate. I was just pointing out something that I didn’t like in his game and has nothing to with Pitts. Smith, Waddle and Pitts are a lot faster out of the stutter which allows all three to separate more quickly.

No offense intended, but, as you know, this time of year is when 'advocates' make this type on post. Personally, I want a game-changing WR and I'll take any of Chase, Pitts, Smith, waddle (alphabetical order). You're right, all have flaws

Chase is going to be a very good pro. Personally I think both Chase and Smith are safer than Pitts, but that’s just me.

The hybrid unicorn position folks are projecting for Pitts doesn’t exist for a reason—most guys like Pitts (see Gesicki) don’t block well enough to create the mismatches folks dream up, and aren’t fluid enough to consistently beat NFL coverage specialists. They also—unlike WRs—get absolutely pounded play after play by NFL LBs and safeties and occasionally DEs, which takes an immense toll on a guy who is basically an oversized WR. I understand all the arguments for why these general rules won’t apply with Pitts.

But to me, it’s a tougher sell than Chase or Smith, who I already know are going to torch NFL quality one-on-one coverage because I’ve already seen them do it. I also think y’all should be more wary of the Pitts media blitz. When every team is telling the media about how special he is and how he’s the #1 non-QB prospect in the draft, to me, all that means is a lot of teams really hope Pitts comes off the board before they pick.
So you've seen them play in the NFL and beat NFL players one on one? Huh, is your name biff?

My take:

I like Smith better than Chase.

That doesn't mean Chase isn't potentially going to be great, I just prefer route running and separation over the ability to out muscle a defender which is what Chase does a lot.

Its a great trait, but he isn't Megatron or Randy Moss level in that regard. I don't think its terrible to bring out his flaws.

He's a bit slow coming out of his cuts, that doesn't mean he's terrible. Just like Smith being a bit small weight wise isn't the end all be all.

If we take Chase ill be happy and looking forward to seeing him on the field.

I like Chase a lot but considering we are near the bottom of the league in wr getting separation one might think a guy who does that well would be our interest.
