Jonnu Smith Trade?

I’d say even more so in round one. Your trying to draft a player that will be a staple in your O or D for the next 7-10 years so yes if Warren is a better prospect than grant, you don’t pass up on Warren based on the targets he’d be getting his rookie year
The Falcons drafted the "generational" talent in Kyle Pitts with the 4th overall pick in the 2021 draft. He was touted as possibly the best tight end ever to enter the draft. Given the opportunity, do you think they would redraft him at 4 again? Success at the collegiate level, no matter how impressive, doesn't always translate to similar production in the NFL. Warren was the primary everything in Penn State's O, he'll never be used the same in a pro offense.
He's a very talented and well-rounded player, but it's a huge risk to select him with your first-round pick. To get the best ROI on him, you'll have to feature him in your offense, and typically, NFL offenses don't feature their TE as their primary weapon. If I had a young, stacked team and needed a TE, then maybe I would have taken the risk, but certainly not in our current state. Just my opinion...

I’m not against going away from the versatile TE and focusing more on our run game along with incorporating Westbrook Ikinhe and Malik Washington more to offset the loss of Jonnu.

Sure Jonnu was great last year, but he essentially took away from Tyreek and Waddles production. We have depth at WR now so makes sense to grab a pick.

I respect your opinion. Most big boards I saw predraft had Warren over grant and for some weird reason I just don’t trust anything Grier does lol

I’m not reading that the Dolphins want to trade him nor that he wants to leave. It seems people are just making stuff up.

From all the reports he wants more money and the Dolphins don’t seem too keen on giving it to him.

What’s the problem? I like Smith, a lot, but how much is he asking for? Do we even know? What if he’s asking for a $100m 3 yr extension. Everyone OK with that? Is Grier at fault for that, too? 😂

They aren’t interested in paying anyone 30 or older at all. This is a rebuild. He had a nice year but he technically doesn’t even start because he can’t block. He only got that much production because Hill was hurt and Beckham didn’t work out

You people really love to complain about everything.

First of all Grant is not just a nose tackle but even if he was a good NT is far more important to our defense than a tight end is to our offense especially one that can’t block. We had the #1 offense with Durham smythe as our tight end in 2023 in case you forgot.

Last year Jonnu was great but he hardly changed our offense, in fact the year he played we had the worst offense under McDaniel so don’t get this irrational take.
It's also funny how you people swear up and down how important it was to draft a NT and how important he is to this defense while at the same time claiming the guy we had and got rid of wanted too much so just get rid of him while at the same time claiming that salary cap doesn't matter or its fake. So, we had to pass on a potential superstar in Tyler Warren just to replace the guy we already had and then you act like people don't have a right to complain...

It's just a report. In all honesty if it was serious he'd have been traded already. If Pittsburgh is serious about adding another playmaker, it's possible they contact Miami again.

What is bothersome, is when a player signs with or is traded to Miami, they immediately start talking more money. Over the past few years, several deals were done to accommodate the players. It now appears Miami has closed the bank. Ramsey and Hill, to name two. It was always about money. Smith after being featured within the offense, now wants additional money. Both are right in their stance. Just not sure what the resolution is right now. Pittsburgh has the draft capital to pull off the trade. But will they?

Sorry I can’t get past the best player on offense crap.

That’s absurd. God dang they act like this dudes legit

All that said we are absolutely idiots but not for the Jonnu smith stuff
