League Sources: Daboll Favorite For Dolphins Job

I wasn't sure what offense we would get with Daboll, so I found these opinions after a search. Taken with a grain of salt, one comment I like is they view him as an OL coach masquerading as an OC. Another said he is very adaptable and will change the system based on personnel.
I haven't been shy about my preference for an offensive-minded HC. I like McDaniel, but if Daboll is creative and adaptable rather than a fit a round peg in a square hole type then I would be okay with him too. Also, it really should come down to who can put together the best staff, and please Ross pay the hell out of the OL coach so we get a good one!

Adaptability is actually something I appreciated with Flores. Maybe Daboll gets that from his time with Bellichick.

If a team can shut down one aspect of your offense, you need to beat them in another way.

Just my opinion, but I think McDaniel is more innovative. Not sure, though, if that is more due to Kyle Shanahan.

if the rumored staff is true then good, otherwise I don't have much hope he will do much better than our previous "mastermind" offense coordinators we've hired, he has failed everywhere but buffalo with a ridiculous qb

Yeah, that's my feeling too. That's why I like McDaniel. If, as you say, the system is very QB-friendly, then the offense should be more productive and make everyone look good. Players that look good get more money. More money makes players happy. Miami Dolphin players that are happy, productive, and winning make me happy. Everybody happy.

This should fix everything…hiring another coordinator who has never been a head coach at any level of football before. It’s the same mistake over and over again.

It has worked out okay for Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, and Matt LaFleur. Just sayin.
