well since hes been mediocre his whole life as a starting qb, how long before you say, well maybe hes just not that good??
In the past I have been very critical of Ryan Tannehill's play. I have always thought he was a below average QB. But after the back-to-back wins over New England and Pittsburgh I thought we had our QB. Then came the back-to-back debacles against Buffalo and the Jets. Now whether you are a big Tannehill fan or not, the performance in those two games are unacceptable. I along with a few other fans on this board felt Matt Moore could have given this team 2 extra wins in 2012 and 2013 which would have landed the Miami Dolphins in the playoffs. Evidently, the Head Coach may have come around to our line of thinking. He is now saying there will be OPEN COMPETITION for the QB job next season. I wish he had that same mindset the last two seasons because if he had, his status would have been a lot more secure right now. I am guessing Bill Lazor may have tipped him off that Matt Moore is a quality QB that can win games even if he is not flashy. The Head Coach may be finally understanding that he is here to WIN GAMES and it doesn't matter who the starting QB is.
tannehill is seen as a franchise qb on this site and its pretty laughable. 95 percent of the posters talk numbers and stats and potential but they always seem to never mention how this guy has NEVER been a winner. mediocre in college and mediocre as a pro but that is always overlooked. there were so many games this year where he left points on the field i lost count. matt moore came in at buffalo and immediately connected on a bomb, something tannehill sucked at all year. its not a stretch at all to say this would have been a playoff team if moore was the starter.

why was texas a&m much, much, much better when manziel became the starter?? their defense is pittiful and is much worse than when tannemarino was there, yet they were much better when taneehill left . all this crap about football being a 53 man team, then why does every elite team have an excellent qb? sh*t if qb is just a part of the team how come you need a great one to compete? i look forward to reading excuses next year when we suck yet again.
dobrasz if your boy could throw a deep pass accurately we wouldnt be talking about the oline, rb or sherman the way we are. but all those pathetic over throws or underthrows or passes to the bench on the sideline when mike wallacw was WIDE open were NEVER tannehills fault. denial is not a river
in egypt. once we get a qb we'll become relevant again.
:lol2:im not saying moore is that good, and i seriously doubt there was competition for the starting qb job. im saying we DEFINITELY need to open the competition for the qb job. if tannehill wins it fine, just make it a true competition. i think moore is easily as good as tannehill but he wasnt over drafted 8th overall now was he?
Franchise QB?!!! You can't be serious, can you?We have the best qb in Miami since Marino left. And he hasnt been in league that long. Yeah he may have overthrown. But overthrowing and such is better than throwing INTs! Considering he had no run game and a bad O line he did pretty good. I am not so sure alot of other qbs would have held in there as he did. Unless we find a better option which there isn't at the moment ! I think its best to keep letting him grow as the franchise QB!
