Franchise QB?!!! You can't be serious, can you?
Yeah I am serious! You know of a better option at the moment! Let the kid grow he has done better than most would have under those circumstances!

He was. At the end of the game when he tried to make something happen. He didn't drop the football on a crucial 3rd and 5 shortly before halftime which the Jets converted into a TD (it was Rishard Matthews) and he didn't drop a potential touchdown in the 2nd half (it was Mike Wallace). He was trying to force it after that play and I don't blame him for that.I'm sorry but Tannehill was flat out garbage against the Jets. His play in that game was pathetic.
@ WV being the only one Thanking the OP.
Moore connected on that long ball to Brian Hartline. Ryan Tannehill didn't have a problem throwing long to Brian Hartline or any other receiver not named Mike Wallace. If he doesn't have a problem throwing long passes to Hartline, Mathews, Gibson but has problems throwing long passes to Wallace, who do you think is the real problem?tannehill is seen as a franchise qb on this site and its pretty laughable. 95 percent of the posters talk numbers and stats and potential but they always seem to never mention how this guy has NEVER been a winner. mediocre in college and mediocre as a pro but that is always overlooked. there were so many games this year where he left points on the field i lost count. matt moore came in at buffalo and immediately connected on a bomb, something tannehill sucked at all year. its not a stretch at all to say this would have been a playoff team if moore was the starter.
Read my previous post. If Tannehill has problems connecting with Wallace on deep pass plays but doesn't have the same problems with all the other receivers on the team, who do you think should be blamed for that?dobrasz if your boy could throw a deep pass accurately we wouldnt be talking about the oline, rb or sherman the way we are. but all those pathetic over throws or underthrows or passes to the bench on the sideline when mike wallacw was WIDE open were NEVER tannehills fault. denial is not a river in egypt. once we get a qb we'll become relevant again.
In the past I have been very critical of Ryan Tannehill's play. I have always thought he was a below average QB. But after the back-to-back wins over New England and Pittsburgh I thought we had our QB. Then came the back-to-back debacles against Buffalo and the Jets. Now whether you are a big Tannehill fan or not, the performance in those two games are unacceptable. I along with a few other fans on this board felt Matt Moore could have given this team 2 extra wins in 2012 and 2013 which would have landed the Miami Dolphins in the playoffs. Evidently, the Head Coach may have come around to our line of thinking. He is now saying there will be OPEN COMPETITION for the QB job next season. I wish he had that same mindset the last two seasons because if he had, his status would have been a lot more secure right now. I am guessing Bill Lazor may have tipped him off that Matt Moore is a quality QB that can win games even if he is not flashy. The Head Coach may be finally understanding that he is here to WIN GAMES and it doesn't matter who the starting QB is.
Matt Moore has never won a meaningful game in his life. The times he played well he did so w/ no pressure to win w/ his team out of it. Ryan cost you a playoff spot but you wouldn't have made it w/ Moore either. Moore is a good backup if needed to play for a game here or there not a guy who can play every week if you want to win.
So...we have the first QB in 15 years that throws for 20+ TD passes without any (=any) run game and with 5 guys in front of him where other teams have an offensive line. And we're still talking about replacing him. Got it.
Lots of liberties taken with the facts here...mods please just slap this in with any of Gravity's threads
Maybe I Wasn't Wrong Afterall
