Ricky won't be depended on nearly as much, so even if his head or heart aren't in it, it won't affect the team nearly as much. (from an on-the-field stanpoint)
But if Ricky does come back at 100% and right his wrong, well, we all of a sudden have an embarrassment of riches in the backfield. Leaving us with lots of interesting options.
The ONLY negative I can see to taking Ricky back is purely psychological.
Thats what worries me. What if he quits again or fails another drug test? Anything that the team accomplishes on the field would be overshawdowed by our headcase rb. Not to mention the blame would fall on Saban. I hope i'm wrong but nothing Ricky does suprises me anymore, including if he came back, only to quit again. Last I heard he still had no passion for football and was still getting high. I won't lie, I loved watching Ricky play and will have my eyes glued to my tv if he comes back. It just seems like a very risky move.
