Completley false. If done properly, proper lifting and explosion workouts not only prevent injuries but extend your career. If explosion exercises such as squats, power cleans, launchers, etc are done imporperly, then yes they could have damaging affects to an athlete.

NOT only these factors but proper lifting,with cardio and flex training(stretching) help prevent common injuries like pulled muscles...etc
