MERGED: Albert signing with Dolphins for 10 mil/per

I'll be happy that LT would be set but a little worry about the cap numbers. We have to do smething about the oline tho so I can't blame Hickey for getting him.

Ozzy rules!!

I will ask this since nobody is…why is Monroe's market so soft? Nobody was really interested in him.

Jax traded the 8th overall selection in 2009 for a 4th round pick to Baltimore, and Baltimore doesn't think he's worth top money. Not sure what the big draw is on Monroe, but I think people are focusing on his 1st round draft status and his current age of 26.

Mudder - He's after $12M, not $7.5M. That's why Oakland are now pursuing Saffold. Veldheer is linked to Arizona and is expected to be the highest paid of the free agent O-linemen.

I didn't just pick a number out of thin air. Someone posted that $7.5mm was what AZ and Veldheer were talking about. That's why I said it would be such a good deal. I expected Veldheer to be near $9mm.

If those numbers for Veldher are accurate and true, I'm gonna be so disappointed we didn't look his way.

If those numbers for Saffold are true, I'll be glad I'm not a Raiders fan (I'd take a chance on Saffold but not for that money)

I didn't want to trade a 2nd for Brendan Albert, and glad we didn't. I'm not really a fan of giving him a huge contract either.

HOWEVER, after watching the OL play this past season I realize that you gotta do what you gotta do. We do sign Albert, we can still draft Zack Martin and play him at guard for a year or 2 OR we can go after a different position.

Terrell Davis just said on nfl am that Albert is basically a done deal, just have to sign the contract. SMH

Ryan Tannehill, meet Brandon Albert. The Dolphins’ new left tackle is expected to be the laid-back Albert. Miami’s expected to blow the opposition out of the water again (remember Mike Wallace and his $13 million average that shocked the NFL last year?) with a deal averaging around $10-11 million.

Take it for what its worth.

Wth r u saying I remember just off the top of my head when the rams drafted Jason smith @ like no.2 in the draft (epic bust)

If you are arguing this basic truth, then I just don't know what to say. Pulling a single name out of your rear doesn't change anything. Tiko.

People should know that many contracts that are going to get signed in the near future will be ugly. The cap went up a large amount and is expected to go up even more soon. The owners will be spending money and ugly contracts now may look reasonable in 2 years.

I don' think there are any of top 10 guys out there are available so it is really irrelevant who they are. We have no offensive line. Nothing, zip, zilch, nada. So if we can get one of the better guys off the next tier then I think it is a win. This team has many holes to fill. RB, TE, all positions but Center on the OLine, LB, Safety, another Corner opposite of Grimes...and maybe even a QB if Tanny doesn't take it to another level. Also throw in a legit fullback. SO...if you can a top 15 tackle I say it is a win for the Hickey Monster.

I want to wait and see how the contract is structured before I say it's good or bad. At 30 years old I can't see Aponte guaranteeing too much money in the back half.

I wouldn't say Miami has a hole at RB and TE. The guys who played in those positions last year are going to be back. The positions can be upgraded sure but that doesn't mean there are holes.

The same can be said for LB and maybe even CB. The OL has holes because everyone is gone outside of Pouncey.

The #Dolphins deal with LT Branden Albert is not 100% done. But "almost" done (unofficially, of course). He'll be a Dolphin.

I'd say there is a hole at RB. Daniel Thomas or Lamar Miller are not viable starting options imo.
