MERGED x 2: Cam Wake Hold-Out Thread

What opinion? I have lots of them. I also know how to articulate them, unlike retards throwing cheap shots on these forums like you buddy.

The opinion that i quoted, then easily refuted by posting facts, to which you responded with "what about it".

Your opinion about Wake last season, that he was average, was wrong. Your opinion that Wake has only had 1 good season was wrong. Your opinion that he is not worth more than $10 million a year was wrong based on his production, in the 2 years he has been starting he has out produced players making $14 million. Heck, id even say that your wrong about us having the ability to sneak around the cap. Not that ways dont exist, just that our front office is so incompetent that they have no idea how, which is why we are currently hovering the line despite only having 2 high paying contracts.

And by the way, i was very impressed with your "ability to articulate" with your "what about it" post. Exceptional work there. As well, if you find me easily refuting your false statements "cheap shots" then you must get offended all the time.

I pray to God that this does not drag on and become a true hold-out or end up with us losing Wake. I was hoping that we would add someone on the other side to help Wake, not replace him with a sub par free agent or green rookie. If we lose Wake, we can kiss our pass rush goodbye.

He linked an article to me. What does statistical facts have to do with what I said? I never said he wasnt a good player or he didnt deserve to get paid. What exactly is it that he disagreed with me on?????? Shesh you people are thick

I completely agree with you. Facts have had nothing to do with anything you have posted in this thread.

Ok according to a very good site in terms of Contracts..... you are not that BAD off CAP wise.

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/miami-dolphins/cap-hit/

92,988,571 that is your 2012 CAP number after the roll over applied that you all applied for.

8,900,000 - that is your roll over

Active Contracts - 100,388,571

Dead money - 1,500,000

So actually you have the room to get something done with him.

Also Dansby carrying a 12.8M hit OUCH?

So with the cap set at 120.6M you should have 27,611,429 in room to get something done with Wake and still sign your rookies.

I don't think that is correct. We are still on the hook for the large signing bonuses we gave to Jake Grove and Justin Smiley. I believe they come off the books this year. Plus we are still on the hook for Brandon Marshall's signing bonus until he gets suspended for punching that chick outside a NYC night club. The Fins FO was at least smart enought to put that provision into his contract. Also it doesn't have Richard Marshall's or Soliai's cap hit accounted for this year. You were correct with your first assumption that we have alot of DEAD money tied up into our cap which is causing us huge problems.

This whole thing and all these contract disputes piss me off. Now, I am NOT saying that Wake doesnt deserve an extension because he absolutely does. Im just mad because personally, I wont make 615K in my LIFETIME and there they are making it in a year.

Sorry I know off topic... just annoyed today.

Trade the man, i dont like holdouts...............

See being specific allows about what you disagree with allows us to discuss it. Linking an article to NFL.com as a response does not, especially an article that is factually incorrect (Cam Wake didn't have 16 sacks in 2010). And just so you know, Jeff Ireland (or any other GM) doesnt pull up PFF to see how much he should pay a player. Mario Williams and Julius Peppers have been pressuring QB's a lot longer than 2 years. Cam Wake aint getting 10 million a year after playing only 2 years. I'll bet on it.

No thats just the kind of idiotic posts I was talking about ealier...

you dont trade one of the NFLs best pass rushers for a second round pick. He is our best Def player and he is a pas rusher and our only good one.
You cant win without him. He deserves 10+M a year yet we dont have the cap to sign him. He has the phins over a barrel because next year we can only franchise one player and next year both LONG and WAKE will be UFAs if not resigned or franchised. One of them will go for free. That means you resign him now or are forced to trade him and get a lot less in return for him similar to Ogunleye a few years back.

Wake will sit out till resigned or until the last possible day which is 10 games into the season to count his last year. You cant fine him that much becuase he is making peanuts.

Another potential disaster on the horizon if not resigned.
