yeah he should be used to it by now:lol:

Whats this? adamprez in a thread that is pretty much bashing Gus? I am shocked and amazed.... I thought you loved Gus and wanted him to be our QB for the next seven years.

Its truly a dilemma. Do you go with the veteran that noone likes or do you go with the guy that everyone likes and maybe he ends up screwin ya.

People like AJ? You may have a preference, but he's still a clown out there.

They're splitting snaps with the first team again! I feel like I bet a longshot and he's running neck and neck with the favorite down the back stretch:evil:

I will say this about Feeley. In what was in effect his rookie season as a starter he went 4-1 playing for a very good team. In what was in effect his sophmore season playing for quite possibly the worst offense ever assembled he still won 3 games. I think if you put the guy on a good offense he's gonna generate wins

Great point. I still think some people over-look just how bad out O-line and RB situation was last year when Feeley took over. For him to win 1 game is acceptable, but he not only managed to win 3 games, but he beat the superbowl champions whom only lost 2 games that year! We can win with Feeley as long as he dosent make as many mistakes as he did last year, I believe he wont, question is, does Saban?

Lol, you forgot Fiedler and HUARD (super bowl winning Huard haha)!

I totally agree. This flip flopping thing is bad. It's obvious that the Dolphins weren't pleased with Frerrotte's performances, but they also sort of feel like the last one wasn't bad enough to rip the starting job from his hands outright. So what the heck does Saban do in this last preseason game?

Options:
1) He continues with the way things were with Gus with the first team and crosses his fingers and hope Gus gets better. If Gus fails then Saban is back at square one and might have to go with the guy who Linehan and Randy McMichael and co. seem to like less. Plus, he loses complete confidence in his backup should Aj get injured.

2) Does he rework everything with trying Aj at first string, seeing if out of nowhere Aj has gotten in the swing of things and is ready to be a franchise Qb? This could throw the chemistry Gus and the starters have out the window and would seriously, seriously piss off Frerotte (and tie Linehan's hands too, since Aj is still learning the offense.)

3) Does he throw em both in there, possibly alternating a few snaps? Yeah, great way to prepare your team for the first regular season game, with a mind boggling switcheroo every two seconds.

I have been in favor of Frerotte starting from the get-go, but at the end of the day, the Qb for the dolphins is only a temp for whomever we draft next year and a bit player in an exposive run-first offense. Both these guys completely suck, so I think I'm at a point where I really don't care who they put in there.

Still, I'd be very surprised with anything other than option #1 at this point. The other options might be too much of a change too close to the start of the season I think (just my opinion).

I could care less who McMike wants as the starter anyways, he needs to stop running his mouth and quit having 3 drops a game. Linehan only likes Gus better because he knows the system better. Thats one factor that AJ is catching up in.

I just want them to start the right guy for the job, Gus had his chance to pull clearly away from AJ. Yet AJ is still right there, yet Gus knows the offense. Did Moss make that much of a difference?

Just the fact that Gus had the chance to pull away and didn't scares me. But with how AJ has done with the 2nd team, let him go with the 1st. Not much left to lose for us if you ask me. Going by what Gus has shown.

He's got a chance now that they're splitting time with the first team.

Just think the guys Feeley had to play with. He hooked up on a touchdown pass on 3rd and forever with a guy(Farmer) who didnt even stick around till the final cuts. I want to see what he does with the real deal receivers now that he's feeling more comfortable in the offense

Gus is feeling frustrated...

...maybe he's been watching the game tapes and see's how bad he is. He's not alone but there's got to be a reason that after 12 years he hasn't broken through. If he can't win the race outright with his unfair advantage of knowing the system then he shouldn't start. Give the ball to AJ and let the cards fall.

AJ has the unhfair advantage of knowing some of the WR's and at game time that might be crucial. AJ has spent a year working with this line (or a near approximation of it). That experience could be crucial. If there's little to choose, with AJ you can't lose, even if you lose. We're rebuilding, we were probably going to lose anyway.

Thats true, but to be fair....AJ also didnt have to face real deal secondaries. I think AJ is the better choice of the 2, especially after Gus went 9 of 25 Saturday, but we have to acknowledge the adversities and advantages that both QBs faced that may have contributed to their success(WAY too strong a word)..........or failure. Otherwise, the Guskateers will come running, ranting and raving about how Gus isnt getting a fair shake.

What the hell does ferotte have to be irked over he is lucky to be on this team the way he has played. He cann't beat out the worst qb of last year. Sorry gus but gettin coffee for linehan doesn't translate into starting qb for the fins. Your play has sucked so far and you are a 12 veteran. Must we always have to learn the hard way that there is no short cut to a good qb. Gus hasn't started for a reason. He has had his chances under many differant coaches and never started. I'd rather see manny wright under center at least we would know we need a qb next year and not have some retread derail the developement of a good young qb.

Actually, he did start for three years in Washington. Just for information only. I didn't think he was that good then but... He had a pro bowl year(somehow) in 1996. Norv Turner was the head coach.
1996

16 games started QB rating 79.3 12 TD’s 11 interceptions completion % 57.4 12 fumbles, record 9-7

1995

11 games started QB rating 70.2 13 TD’s 13 interceptions completion % 50.3 7 fumbles, record 6-10

1997

13 games started QB rating 73.8 17 TD’s 12 interceptions completion % 50.7 8 fumbles, record 8-7-1

just for everyones personal knowledge....LOL...
don't take this as a personal endorsement...LOL

Dear Gus,

Welcome to NFL Miami. You should of known from the start that by coming to Miami you weren't competing only with the QBs on the Miami roster but with Marino as well. You see, we know what a good QB is and we know what will please us. You may know the system but nothing is a given. Feeley could have b*tched up until now even but I haven't heard a word from the guy and for this reason + you griping I wish you could go back to Minnesota so that the job would be Feeley's.

I truly don't have any preference as to who plays for this team so as long as we win games or at least make the game exciting.

this post is lame but so is the fact that you expect it to be a given.

if you cant stand the heat, there are 21 words of advice that were written just for you by a small balding man from the seventies named Paul Simon.

As I said before, Frerotte with his knowledge of this offense should be a lot more productive than he has been. If I was the headcoach and saw that pathetic overthrow to a wide open David Boston in the 1st quarter last saturday, he would have to give me a DAMN GOOD explanation for that. He
speaks as though he is entitled to the job because he knows Scott Linehan which tells me he is just as immature as he was in Washington when he rammed his head against that wall. I can also remember Marvus Patton (his own teammate at the time) having to be restrained from attacking him on the sideline for throwing back to back interceptions when they played in Washington. I know you fellow Dolphans don't see him as the next Marino, but let me giv you a little mor perspective. This man couldn't win a starting job with the f#%*@&g Bengals. And lets not forget that pathetic performance in the playoffs against the Ravens a few years ago. He can't fool me for one second Dave Wannstedt never fooled me on Feidler either. Sometimes one performance can tell you whether a QB has it or not.

Gus and his YPA

There was also some talk on here about Gus and his YPA and how much better it was than Feeley.
His career YBA is 7.05 But if you take out his 2 starts in Minn. When his YPA was 10.62 his career YPA is 6.53. He had 1 game in Minny where he passed for 4 tochdowns against SF I think Randy Moss caught 2 of them and they were both 40-50 yard TD's. Hell Randy would make Ryan Leaf look Great.

I don't blame Frerotte for being frustrated about the whole QB situation, I was hoping we would have named a starter by now because than we'd know who is our guy and

I really don't blame Frerotte for being frustrated about the QB situation, we all are. We're all tired of seeing threads about Frerotte and Feeley and the QB competition. I'm sick of hearing from Gus lovers (I will not give in to use the word "Gusketeer", NEVER!) and I am sick of hearing from AJ lovers. And a part of me is extremely relieved that Brock Berlin was released because I'm sick of hearing about how he's the future for us. Lets not kid ourselves here, we are all FRUSTRATED with our QB situation. A lot of us feel Gus is the man for the job, a lot of us feel AJ is the man for the job, and a lot of us feel that we don't have a starting calibur QB on our team. Any of those could be true. Let me get one thing straight that I'm hoping a lot of you will agree with me or already feel the same way... I want Saban and our coaching staff to determine who the better man is for the job and to start him. I don't want to keep switching QB's, I don't want to go through a Jay Fiedler moment, I don't want to go through what we did last year. Right when we signed Frerotte, all I have asked.... from the very very beginning (on that very day we signed him) is that I hope we don't have to go through what we did with Fiedler and AJ... Fiedler and Griese... Fiedler and ANYONE! I'm hoping after the Atlanta game Saban and the rest of our coaching staff decide on our starter for Week 1 with Denver and stick to that situation. I don't want to see a Wannstedt choose a guy minutes before gametime and than take him out the first half and than switch to the other QB and than switch back to the QB. Gus Frerotte... AJ Feeley... Sage Rosenfels..... someone please win the starting job and end this pandamodium. Thank you for hearing me ROAR! :tantrum:

OK brother....I agree
