Michael Sam: I'd be excited to be drafted by Dolphins

Buffalo, New York or New England.

oh come on LANGER! you didnt think at least for a second to put san franciso on that list? :chuckle:

lets face it, all joking aside, san fran is one HUGE gay community and he would probably have his easiest time there with the media and fans.

He seems about a million times smarter and more well-spoken than Richie, which will make him a far better leader than him as well (putting Richie in the same sentence as "leader" makes me  ). If he wasn't a 'tweener, I wouldn't mind having that kind of player on my team. Doesn't seem like he'd be a good fit here football-wise though.

Richie is actually fairly well spoken. He just has issues when the cameras aren't around.

I've heard Michael Sam speak (if you want to call it that) and I'm not impressed.

I hope Michael Sam does not play for Miami. No, it's not because of his sexuality, and how he chooses to live his life. I'm very happy, and proud of Michael for doing what he did. He made history in pro sports, and opened up a new door for gay and lesbian athletes in allowing them to know that it's OK to be who you are in this kind of environment. Anyways, the Dolphins are a mess. A clueless owner, a new GM who will probably be gone after next season, and a head coach that clearly does not have control of the lockerroom. Michael Sam deserves far better than this dumpster fire of an organization.

If he can get to the QB with any kind of consistency I would take him in a heart beat.....screw the media, I want good football players on this team period......

Sam is going to fall in the draft and outsiders will make it because of his announcement when in reality he has no position. He cannot play DE at his size. He is stiff legged. He has no chance to play OLB. So he might be able to help on special teams?

Yet outsiders will cry foul that it is discrimination that he goes late or undrafted. He is not a 3rd or 4th rounder after seeing his Senior Bowl practice highlighted again.

Michael Sam putting up #'s I could produce. 25" vert, 17 bench reps, 4.91sec 40

His performances in the interviews upped his stock; his performances on the field dropped it all the way back down. It's well known that there's a good correlation between vertical jump and pass rushing ability - Sam's vertical is pretty horriible. I find it hard to envision him being anything more than a special teams guy at this point.

once tackles sit on that same wide pass rush move in camp like they will and he will have no counter answer it will be curtains...that dudes too stiff laterally to even help you on specials...

someone else is gonna have to carry the torch in the nfl...tape don't lie

Sam is banking on being drafted high because some owners don't want to look like they don't like gay guys. I think it's a great PR move on his part!

Tweener M Sam welcome to the CFL where you can play two downs rushing the passer
Locker room with him and Arland Bruce would be nice.

Seriously though, there's no way he makes the CFL either. Those numbers are bad.
