Mike Freeman: Philbin has to be fired

Actually, we're talking about a hostile workplace. You can try to diminish the severity of the problem by reducing it to just "mean words" but if the investigation determines that Incognito created a hostile work environment and the team in some way encouraged it, this is a pretty serious matter.

If, but nothing as of yet has pointed to that. If it ever does ill change my point of view as I have worked in a legit hostile workplace before. As of now though this 100% points to Martin being mentally weak and Cog being supported by the locker room.

Philbin or Ireland WILL be either suspended or FIRED within the next 14 days. I am convinced of this. And I like most Dolphin fans will get our wish!!!

No they won't because Ross doesn't have some sadistic agenda many on here do to tear the team down. He just extended Ireland and the team is .500. Plus, there is zero pointing to any liability on the dolphins staff. Plus it would make Ross look bad. So there's that.

Many people will be fired. While I'm not a Ireland or Philbin supporter, I would've rather they were let go under different circumstances.

I'm so sick of the embarrassment this team has become. And seemingly can't shake.

That we know of. We don't know the context of the voicemail, just the transcript. What specific harassment is there? We know Cog stole Martin's car. Oh wait, it was Martin who stole someone else's car.

We do know they hung out together. We do know the team has Cog's back. So right now all I can assume is it is just some mean words that set of a spoiled brat kid who's wussy parents told him how great he was and now he isn't the greatest at something he wants to smash it.
Let me correct my statement. The possibility of extortion. We don't know the details of the $15,000 Martin paid for the Vegas trip he didn't attend but helped finance.

Having mental issues doesn't equate to being a spoiled brat. That's a pretty big reach there.

EDIT: Almost forgot the threat. Incognito also threatened to kill him and slap his mom. That's a crime. Mean words aren't a crime.

Fire Belichick....he didn't know Hernandez was a mass murderer. He should know every action a player does at all times.

Smh- just fn dumb.

Excellent point.......right on target

While it may turn out that there are tangible reasons to fire Philbin when the smoke clears, this isn't one of them. You couldn't have drawn a better analogy, and of course put a spotlilght on the preferred status the league affords Kraft and the Cheatriots. Whether Philbin could have prevented bullying, Belicheat had a heads-up about Hernandez long before he may well have become a multiple murderer and more proactive intervention might have preempted at least one murder.

Of course 2 wrongs don't make a right, but in terms of egregiousness, at least handle the fins the way NE was treated ferchrissake!

PS: how's my new sig look?

Powerful sig, bro. Too much truth in there for the haters to handle, though.

The hypocrisy on this is breathtaking.

I'm not so certain it is mental issues after really stepping back from the situation. Other than what "Richie's Dad" said his actions are that of a person with a very low emotional quotient. EQ is a great determiner of how you would handle situations like that and I really believe his is just from being disappointed with not being the top dog anymore. Not just that, people telling him he isn't the top dog. Coincidence it came right after he got bumped back to RT?

Possibility yea, there are a lot of possibilities going around now. I'm sticking with facts and logical assumptions. I'm not disagreeing its you that things like that would be a different level, but I also don't see much else supporting it other than accusations from a boy who ran away from his team.

I've been a Dolphins fan my whole life and want nothing but the best for the team...you may not agree with what I believe is best for the team, but it is what I believe.

Sometimes it helps to look at the situation objectively instead of through aqua colored lenses....

Anytime is see the "look at the situation objectively instead of through aqua colored lenses."I'm ready for a fail attempt at winning a debate.

My 2 cents......They can fire Ireland an Philbin or they can keep both of them but I don't see anything changing anyway. Our team has been bad for years and years. ne thing is for sure imo, this team is going nowhere if we keep the people that we have now in place. Keep on doing the same thing then the same thing will keep on happening. I'd be ok if they keep Philbin but I don't see how getting rid of him would hurt us. What has he done that is so spectacular? Same for Ireland. Whjat has he done that it's so amazing that we must keep him?>

Ozzy rules!!

Just to make a distinction, I'm not saying we don't deserve condemnation, but after watching those bozos' heads exploding with righteous indignation, it infuriated me cuz one was kicked off his team, letting his teammate down cuz he couldn't control even worse impulses as a junkie, another was kicked to the curb by TB as a cancer where the team was better off without him in the locker and was so into himself first that he earned the nick "MEshawn", another has a history of undependable reporting, making stories up so where's the credibility, and of course there's the guy who if not caught dead to rights being complicit in a murder and acknowledging it by accepting a plea deal, had no qualms about letting whomever pulled the trigger disappear had he not been nailed to the wall. So it's morons like these who should just STFU

Philbin is getting slammed by the press for doing his press conference from written note cards and not from the heart.

It gives the impression that he has been coached on what to say. The correct action was for Ross to have a press conference prior to Philbin's.

I agree that we don't know if that's the case yet, however, what the other players feel is irrelevant. A hostile work environment doesn't have to pertain to more than one person to exist.
