Most underrated/overrated players on team and league

It's amusing to watch how people try very hard to post politically correct answers to the question of who is over-rated on the Dolphins. It seems reasonable to think that some of the players must be over-rated on a losing team. Are folks afraid to post what they really think?

i think marino deserves to be in the hall of fame and that he is a great quarterback in his own right. but i think stats aren't always a measuring stick of your greatness either. everyone says you can't judge marino because he never had talent around him. we were preseason picks to go to the superbowl many of years and we had lines that gave outstanding pretection but we never did. he was great but it never seemed like it was great at the critical times of playoffs or late in the season. i personally like the qb who in the 4th quater w/ 2:00 left in superbowl has the best performance of his life. until dan can do that w/ he can't, then he ranks farther down the line in terms of best qb's of all time. top 20 but not top 5.

Name 10 qbs better than marino

Is it just me or is the Pats WR's underrated big time? Whenever people talk about the Pats, they only talk about Brady and the coaches and i never hear them talk about the WR's.

I agree, Davey is a talented player rotting away on the bench, but he isnt even rated at all. Hes not overrated or underrated, he's not rated. You cant rate him.

Marino is probably the greatest pure passer of all time. Fin fans really have to think though, COuld you guys not run the ball for him because you couldnt, or he really didnt want to run the ball?

WHo knows, but I think he wanted to win it all with his arm, unlike ELway who just wanted to win it all, no matter how they did it.

I disagree. I don't think Miami ever had a talented enough RB or run blocking O-line that gave Marino enough confidnece to hand it off all of the time. Throughout his career a commom theme was Miami getting out in front by 10 or 14 points and Shula trying to sit on the lead with the running game only to blow the lead after 3 or 4 three and outs and Marino would come back and win the game in the end. I don't think Dan would've had a problem handing it off if there was competant talent to run the ball. Jabbar was the onlyu 1000 yard back Dan played with and it practically took him 1000 carries to get it (HAHA).

I agree 100%. For some reason whenever we are comparing AFC East positions we argue that the Bills and Dolphins have the best WR's yet there is no substance to back that up. The Pats have the best QB, O-line, and skill players in the AFC East.

Agreed, till someone knocks off the Pats..

For the last few years massively overrated Michael Vick has been. Nothing more than a glorified runningback he is. On his jock many are......sick it makes me.

Underrated Teddi Bruschi has been for a while. Nothing but impactual plays in important game situations he makes.

We are talking about when Marino was in his Prime, not the end of career.

A RB, bad or not, was lucky to get 200 carries during Marino's Prime. Most of the Time the leading RB had much less than 200 carries.

It's a Pats love fest in here! j/k

Yeah, we do have a decent WR set. The biggest thing is that they catch the ball all the time. Nothing frustrates me more than a WR that drops catchable footballs. It has been refreshing to see them make so many damn catches all the time, especially Givens who is good for a first down it seems like over 90% of the time. And Branch is good at yards after the catch too.

A great, underappreciated player Givens is. If the Pats ever let him go, surprised I will be.

I wished that we did have Givens or Branch. Both of them can make the catches in a big situation and they hardly dissapoint anyone.
