NBA FINALS THREAD: Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks

The Trendy pick is picking the heat in 5,

that ussaly done by people who don't know basketball and see 3 home games and think oh we split one and then sweep at home.

Im thinking Heat in 6 or Mavs in 7

as much as i love my Heat, I don't know if we can stop the Viking/Alien on his home court in a game 7

The real question is:

Can Dwyane Wade be stopped in a game 7?

My question is why are they off until Thursday? They should be starting the Finals today or tomorrow. :tantrum:

Well, it's not like Wade has been stupendous in clinching games. Last year against the Pistons, he was hurt and was a non-factor. In another clinching game this year, game 5 vs. the Pistons, he was nothing special as the Heat lost. In game 6 against Detroit he again was nothing special (albeit sick), and basically watched with everyone else as the Pistons imploded into a horrendous shooting team.

All the Wade lovers want to put him on a level he hasn't reached yet. If he wins the Finals, then and only then will he have arrived.

I think anyone who predicts this series in under 6(proably anything other then 7) needs to take off their homer glasses

Why does that have to be "HOMER"?? Why can't it be confidence in the team there supporting?? C'mon now!!!!!

it was already preset by NBA and ABC that it would start on thursday no matter what happened in both of the series.

I was listening to Scott Wetzel, on Sporting News Radio this afternoon...he said there is no way Miami's big men are going to be able to contain Dirk. He has the Mavs winning it in 5 or 6 games. Hope he is wrong....Just because the Mavs handled the Heat in two regular seasons games doesn't mean it will be the same in the Finals.

Dont say sick

Say in the hospital puking, didnt even set foot on a basketball court untill near gametime, and was still clutch when it counted, he helped extend the lead and put the game away, only had 14 points but also had 10 assists

You also seem to be forgetting the 3 games he shot over 70% against you.....and the game he shot over 80%

he missed one of 'em. don't stress, though: that second game was a big part of the team's awakening this year, and if you go by what happened in the regular season, the heat should have lost to jersey and detroit.

Antoine Walker will defend Dirk...by denying him the ball, just like he did to Rasheed Wallace *even though Rasheed is nowhere near the player Dirk is*
